Talk:List of trophies (disambiguation)

From SmashWiki, the Super Smash Bros. wiki

I don't really find it appropriate for ROB's symbol to represent the other. I suggest that the cell for the symbol of "Other" be removed/merged with the one on its right side. – SmiddleT 09:12, 9 January 2011 (EST)

I'm not sure what symbol you're referring to that it be merged with, but I disagree. R.O.B. is from a "other" franchise (hence why he is grouped with "other" trophies in Brawl), and being the only playable character from the other franchises, his symbol is essentially the symbol of the other franchises. I still don't think so, as "Other" encompasses more than just the Robot series, and I don't think that that should represent it just for the sake of a character, and the symbol didn't even exist in Melee. (What I meant was to remove the symbol and merge the remaining empty cell with the one on its right). – SmiddleT 09:39, 9 January 2011 (EST)
I agree with this. Just because R.O.B. is playable doesn't mean his symbol should represent a mass of non-R.O.B. things (a sizable amount of which have their own symbols). I would change it to the Special Stages symbol from Melee - it gets across the idea that it's a cluster of multiple things. Toomai Glittershine ??? Da Bomb 09:51, 9 January 2011 (EST)
I still say we use R.O.B.'s as he is the "representative" of the other franchises in Smash Bros., and to me, that has greater significance than the special stage symbol used in Melee (though for consistency, I would prefer using the special stage symbol over leaving the cell empty). Being the representative of the other franchises, his symbol is the representing symbol symbol of the other franchises, and therefore I would go with using that symbol. As the guy who put the table together, I agree with OT - while I did hesitate and nearly use the Special Stages symbol, but between its apparent obscurity (to the point there was a debate on whether it actually existed for a bit) and absence from Brawl, I preferred R.O.B.'s symbol for the reasons OT gave. - Reboot (talk) 11:56, 9 January 2011 (EST)
What about merging the cells? Nobody has commented on that yet. – SmiddleT 13:11, 9 January 2011 (EST)
OT did (negatively), and I agreed. It was basically rejected out of hand - it's either R.O.B. or Special Stages. - Reboot (talk) 13:35, 9 January 2011 (EST)
^ I already objected to it because it leads to inconsistency and we already have a good enough symbol to use. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 13:39, 9 January 2011 (EST)
(Sorry for the latency.) I originally interpreted your objection as being aimed towards simply leaving the cell empty without merging it. Anyway, any kind of inconsistency is inevitable as there is no true representative symbol for "Other". I think that Special Stages still is a better representative of "Other", and I don't really see the lack of recognition for its existence as relevant. – SmiddleT 14:36, 12 January 2011 (EST)

redundant descriptions[edit]

I find this message appear in every melee trophy description:

Most trophies ("figures" or "figurines" in Japan) in Super Smash Bros. Melee can be obtained through the lottery (labeled as random in how to unlock). Other trophies, particularly those of playable characters and their smashes, can be obtained by playing Classic Mode, Adventure Mode, and All-Star Mode respectively. Trophies can also be obtained by completing several challenges. There are 293 trophies in all in Melee, some which tend to be rarer than others.

I wanted to delete those descriptions on the melee lists as we can put that description on this page for people to get the main idea on this page, we can't have the same thing say this description on every list. ..... The Baneling NintenNESsprite.png 22:34, 23 February 2012 (EST)

Smash 3DS trophies[edit]

Here. Let's get to it. ShadowMan2 (talk) 01:52, 15 September 2014 (EDT)

I found a site that shows all trophies. We just need the descriptions. Ma321 (talk) 15:43, 28 September 2014 (EDT)

Higher Quality[edit]

Is there any chance of higher quality images from the 3DS version of Smash? Mostly for my own personal use (cough cough) but also because it's really small and kinda fuzzy. ...a new NuttaNutta's Mallo sig.pngis approaching... 20:02, 2 October 2014 (EDT)

Wii U Trophies[edit]

Well, what are you guys waiting for? ShadowMan2 (talk) 10:13, 29 November 2014 (EST)

Wii U[edit]

The entire trophy in for Wii U! Some trophies that are also in the 3DS version have a different description, so please pay extra attention so that future edits will be accurate. 07:39, 1 December 2014 (EST)

In my opinion, we should remove the custom table style in favor of the wikitable class. The reason is that wikitables are nicer to look at (e.g. less prominent borders), and work well with alternate skins and user-defined CSS. For an example, see this revision of List of SSB4 trophies (WarioWare series). —Fenhl 06:06, 16 February 2015 (EST)

Disambig...Let's not.[edit]

Why is this a disambiguation? Can we change this? Serpent King (talk) 11:51, 8 June 2015 (EDT)

...what would it be instead? Toomai Glittershine ??? The Keymaster 15:43, 8 June 2015 (EDT)
Err...List of Trophies? Idk, when I wrote that, my mind was set that disambig meant a short page to redirect to larger pages (without any real information). This of course is not true. Serpent King (talk) 15:49, 8 June 2015 (EDT)
