Talk:List of SSBB Music (Donkey Kong series)
Link vs. Video[edit]
Pokémonultimate and JamesHeart123 have been going around these music pages, getting rid of the link section of the infobox, and adding the actual video underneath. They should have discussed this on the talk page first, so I'll make the proposal. If you think the articles are better with a link in the infobox, type Link. If you prefer having the video below, put Video.
So firstly, I prefer a Link, as having the videos clutter up the page, and don't look as neat. Toast

Perhaps there's a better way of doing this, like having the videos be in a table at the bottom of the page, or is there any way to make an embedded video smaller? James

I know that voting isn't over yet, but I found another option to consider. Through my usual strategy of looking at and experimenting with wikitext, I found a way to embed the video into the infobox, keeping the convenience Pokémonultimate was trying for and leaving out the clutter. For instance, to the right is my version of the Bramble Blast infobox with the song inside. Though, if you guys like this idea, the template will need to be changed to reflect the change of song format. James

- I like this proposal the most, though uploading the files directly to the Wiki would probably be a better option. --- ReiDemon, Author Extraordinaire, 16:50, 1 December 2011 (EST)
- This works, good thinking. the convenience of it being on the page, with the size of the link. a perfect compromise.Pokémonultimate

- Yes, I support this option as well. After a final desicion has been reached, I'll change the infobox to say something like "Play". Toast

Complication There are two main problems here.
- Consistency. Some videos have two loops, others have three, others have two and a half, and so on. Unless you find someone who has all the music uploaded in the same way it'll be hard to get consistency. Of course that leads to:
- YouTube legal crap. Many a video game music channel has been terminated in the past. If we link to videos that suddenly vanish, how will we know if we only have the bottom bar on the page? We'd then have to search for replacements to everything.

- First reason I don't see as a big deal at all. Second reason is somewhat valid, but obviously we can tell whether the video has been terminated by clicking on the bar and seeing whether or not it plays the music. Mr. Anon

25M origin[edit]
So, the 25M theme has been wrongly claimed on here for a long time to be from the arcade version of Donkey Kong, when it is actually from the NES version... kinda. It honestly only sounds CLOSER to the NES version to me, not like it is the NES version outright. Am I bad at listening or is this actually a secret near-exact remix like the NES Mushroom Kingdom theme in Smash 64 or Brawl's Melee songs? --What could possibly go wrong? - BubzieBobkat (talk) 10:09, October 12, 2025 (EDT)
- Taking a listen to the theme in both Smash Wii U and Ultimate: to me at least, it sounds much closer to the arcade version than it does to the NES version. I can't verify how it sounds in Brawl since I don't have a copy and I cannot find any good gameplay footage online where it plays, but a lot of uploads suggest it's the same exact version used in the other Smash games. 🧥The Jacketed Terrapin🐢 13:35, October 12, 2025 (EDT)
