Merge Proposal[edit]

I've opened a Merge Proposal for this page in accordance with the stuff put forward regarding Crownerang, as well as the WFT Header techniques. I agree that advanced techniques don't necessarily need pages of their own, and it's more accessible to put them on the pages of moves where it's applicable. There are two potential places for this to go: Rising Tackle or Command Input Special Moves. Both make sense, but I'm leaning towards the latter. Here are some arguments for both.

  • Rising Tackle - It's currently the only move that makes use of this mechanic, so like many advanced techniques, putting it here would make sense. Additionally, the hold frames are tied to it in the game's parameters, tying it directly to the move and making it an official mechanic. Crack Shoot isn't affected by charge partitioning in regards to turning around either, making this a Rising Tackle-exclusive technique at the moment.
  • Command Input Special Moves - Since this isn't necessarily "the fault of" Rising Tackle and moreso the game's input system, you can make the argument that it belongs here. There's also the matter of ever other command input-based technique being on this page, including COIL, which was merged recently. Since it's possible another fighting game character (eg. Guile, Urien, and tons of characters from other franchises, this stuff is very common) could be added that uses charge inputs, this would also future proof what we have and make it easier to edit later. It'd be kind of annoying to have this discussion later just because another fighting game character was added.

What do you think? --PlagueSigImage.pngPlague von KarmaPlagueSigImage.png 08:18, March 13, 2021 (EST)

Updated this with more arguments for either, this is surprisingly technical. --PlagueSigImage.pngPlague von KarmaPlagueSigImage.png 13:13, March 20, 2021 (EDT)
Since the hold frames are tied to the move and Miles gave a fair argument in regards to putting it on Rising Tackle, I am supporting their take.--PlagueSigImage.pngPlague von KarmaPlagueSigImage.png 03:06, April 10, 2021 (EDT)

It seems to me the most reasonable approach is to merge with Rising Tackle, a decision which can be revisited if/when any other move has this property. Miles (talk) 13:24, March 20, 2021 (EDT)

Since this is a quirk of the command input system, I'd be inclined to merge it in the Command Input page, with a "See also" tab on Rising Tackle. But nothing prevents us from doing it the other way around, really.--Rdrfc (talk) 13:46, March 20, 2021 (EDT)

Merging with Rising Tackle makes the most sense to ne since the technique is tied and exclusive to this move. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 13:39, April 18, 2021 (EDT)

Seconding Miles, move to Rising Tackle until we have something else that (ab)uses this. Aidan, the Springing Rurouni 11:40, April 19, 2021 (EDT)
