Overview[edit]

After the right conditions of knockback received, Lucario tumbling to the floor will either be face down, or face up. Lucario must be facing the floor (face down) to use front floor getup options. After the missed tech, Lucario is prone and has between three choices:

  • neutral getup
  • getup roll
    • forward getup roll
    • backward getup roll

When missing the tech, Lucario can choose a floor getup option after 25 frames. However, when an option isn't selected, Lucario will be prone for 245 frames(including missed tech tumble) before automatically doing a neutral getup from the floor.

Between the three floor options, Lucario always has 22 intangible frames. Neutral getup is 29 total frames, whereas the two getup rolls have 35 total frames. Interestingly, back rolls are commonly depicted as worse than forward rolls. Though, in Lucario's case, back getup roll ever-so-slightly travels backward farther than front getup roll traveling forward.

Trivia[edit]

  • Teching is important for Tech-chasing, but when comparing Lucario's forward and backward tech rolls.. the front floor getup rolls not only have more intangible frames and less total frames, but they also travel farther distance than the tech rolls too.
  • With spirit abilities in mind, the Easier Dodging ability claims that it "increases period of invincibility when dodging--", which may sound like it only affects dodge rolls and air dodges and nothing else. However, the Easier Dodging ability from the World of Light skill tree, and from primary and support spirits do in fact increase the amount of intangibility frames for the floor getup rolls. The effect is 1.2x with one equipped, and the ability caps at 1.8x.
    • For Lucario outside of World of Light, having a Amazon Pandora primary spirit with two Kapp'n support spirits equipped nets approximately 1.6x more intangible frames. This increases both the forward and backward getup rolls' intangibility windows, both going from:
      • 1-22 → 1-35
      • note that the forward/backward getup roll's entire animation length is fully protected with intangibility.
    • In World of Light, found in the skill tree, there is also a Super Easier Dodging skill which further increases the amount of intangibility frames for floor getup rolls as well. Though, 1.6x already maximizes the intangibility windows as high as they can go.
