Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome, editors and users, to the Smash Arena! Each week this forum hosts a tussle between two characters, items, stages or anything else from the Super Smash Bros. series! The winner gets, well, nothing. It's more of a poll but functionally, this is a popularity contest. You may vote for your favorite or who you think would win in an competition between the two combatants that round. No, you don't have to vote for the character with strength & power, just vote if you are a total fanboy of the character. So what are you waiting for? Get voting! Remember, you can remain anonymous! If you have any requests for future fights, please feel free to leave a message here.

The Rules

1. When voting, you can give a brief comment on why you voted the way you did, or you can just leave your signature.
2. You can only vote once. Any multiple votes will be removed.
3. Put a # before your vote to facilitate the vote counting.
4. Type ~~~~ after your vote to sign it, whether you are logged in or not. Using the wrong number of "~"s counts as not signing - your signature must have both your signature itself and the time.
5. There is a line in each section consisting of "DO NOT ADD COMMENTS OR EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE". You are to do so; do not just type your vote at the bottom of the editing window. Not following this rule results in your vote being displayed in the wrong place.
6. Put your vote below other votes; that is, so the votes are in chronological order.
7. Any comments about the fight should be left in the comment section. However, you are not to post argumentative, accusative, or any sort of comment with the intention of starting an argument with someone on the opposing side. The Smash Arena is a popularity contest, there's no need to argue with the other side on why your choice is superior, or why they are wrong with their reasoning for picking their choice. You are also not to post comments that are just pointing out/complaining how close/one sided a matchup is. These sorts of comments are worthless, and do nothing but make an already large page larger.
8. You may only vote in the current fight; all previous fights are closed.
9. Do not leave a space between your comment and the ones above it (and/or below it).
10. If there are multiple fights in a single round, try to make all your votes in a single edit.

If your vote is not added correctly - that is, it breaks rules 3, 4, or 5 - you have one hour to fix it. After this time, it may be moved by any user to the Half-Votes section (adding the unsigned template if necessary), and it will count as half a vote. Attempting to move your vote out of the Half-Votes section may result in it being worth zero at an operator's discretion. In addition, if your votes-to-rulebreaks ratio climbs too high, your votes may count for zero until the ratio drops to an acceptable level.

Intentional half-votes undermine the intent of the half-vote system as a way to punish voters for voting incorrectly. It is legal to want a vote to be worth half, but it is very heavily discouraged, and you must state in your vote you want it to be worth half.

Pictochat vs. Hanenbow

Both of these 2D-based stages represent unusual universes and have an odd series of platforms with interesting-sounding music. Which one will pull through?

Plus, Hanenbow looks lovely, and I generally have a soft spot for it, being obscure, and the whole name confusion when it was first seen. Also, seeing a Lv. 9 Mario use Super Jump Punch underneath the bottom leaf, and push it upwards with the attack so he can't recover, resulting in a victory for the Lv. 1 Toon Link was a marvellous event for me. Comments Whoa, what's with all the Hanenbow hate? It's inferior to PictoChat, sure, but it's not completely useless. If anything, its far more entertaining that Mushroomy Kingdom 1-2 or Rumble Falls. Mr. Anon (talk) 16:02, 18 August 2011 (EDT) The general idea for this battle is that both command large armies; in the Fire Emblem series, Marth ends up with a large army of followers whom he has recruited, and they fight alongside him, while Olimar can have tens of Pikmin following him, helping him out.
