== Best tournament result parameter for Mango ==
I already explained in a previous edit summary why I listed TBH9 as Mango's best tournament result (at least out of his open bracket events). If a reason for a change was provided in the edit history, please don't just change it back without giving a reason of your own. A few things

1. Please read edit summaries before adding back edits with no explanation.

2. Players like Lunchables do not need a win list, since he's one of the best players in the world and thus it's naturally expected that he'll have beaten nearly everyone he's played at least once. Furthermore, the win list you provided isn't really reflective of the current era of top PM/P+, given that Jose V/Gallo fell out of Top 10 (and eventually dropped from the rankings entirely), and Bongo having never been Top 10 at all.

3. The Doctor was clearly not #1 in 2023, given that he was ranked 5th on PMRank 2023. I'm confused on why you claimed that he was. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 04:23, February 8, 2024 (EST)

I don’t know where to respond so I’ll just do it here: Number 3: I meant to put in “Early” before 2023, but I must’ve forgotten to, Number 2: I was making it reflective of the OG PM era, 2016 mostly, Number 1: I will try —Preceding unsigned comment added by SuperMario7 (talkcontribs) 10:45, February 8, 2024 (EST)

Gallo and Full Bloom 2024

1. As Omega Tyrant had already mentioned in his edit summary, Gallo did not receive the necessary votes to be a VIP player and was removed from the category. There is currently a formal voting process going on for the players in this category in order to better narrow down who should be in it, since many of them were simply added by users without any reasons given.

If you want any specific reasons as to why Gallo didn't make it: he was only really a Top 10 player for one year (where he wasn't even in the Top 5), he didn't make Grand Finals at any majors (let alone win one), and his accomplishments with Mario would ultimately be heavily overshadowed by The Doctor in later years.

2. Full Bloom 2024 did not have any of the Top 10 and only had 2 of the Top 20. It's definitely not a P+ major. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 12:45, February 26, 2024 (EST)

The Full bloom part I was completely unaware of, and it did not know it wasn’t a major. SuperMario7 (talk) 1:13, February 26, 2024 (EST)

Next time make sure an event is a major before adding it to the list. For example, you can check Full Bloom's introduction or category to see what kind of event it was, or you can use Liquipedia's list of majors as a reference. CookiesCnC Signature.pngCreme 13:17, February 26, 2024 (EST)

Some more things

The other characters parameter in infobox is meant for active legitimate secondaries only, not for any character that the player ever used once or fools around with. This means:

  • The player actually uses the character in tournament sets (and not only in side events).
  • The player uses the character with some regularity (so no one offs or a character they tried out for a couple months and then immediately dropped).
  • The player uses the character against legitimately threatening opponents (i.e. not when sandbagging against early pool opponents they could stomp with anyone).
  • The player actually wins sets with the character against those legitimate opponents (so no character they bust out only to lose with).

Additionally, if the character was a notable main or secondary for the player before but the player no longer plays them, then they should be in the retired parameter instead, not the other character parameter. Refer to our infobox documentation page for how the parameters should be used.

For one more thing, additions to a character's "most historically significant players" section should be discussed first, and you should really look at our guidelines for them before trying to propose adding anyone else to any of them. Specifically, players need actually historically results with the character to be added (doing well with them in a side event once isn't remotely historically significant), and you need to keep top player bias in check (just because someone is a top player doesn't make them historically significant for any character they once used, they need actually significant results with those characters that stand on their own). Speaking of this, can you give a bit of evidence on your claim for Gallo? You said he was considered one of the best Pit players in the world, yet in almost every tournament he has attended, at least the ones linked on the wiki and SmashBoards, he has been playing Mario, with Pit used as a side character. In fact, his Pit usage was around the time Armada and ZeRo played Project M, so that already calls into question your claim that he was "the best in the world". Finally, when you readded Gallo you didn't provide any tournament results, just a ranking that had Mario listed as his primary character, while the tournaments you did provide in a previous edit were with solo-Mario. RE: Mario images

"Not that it matters or anything, but why were the images changed from jpg to png, I mean it’s still the same Dr. Mario and Builder Mario"

There's a few reasons why I uploaded PNGs in place of the JPGs you uploaded:

  1. JPGs have lossy compression which means some data is lost and the way it compresses the data results in unsightly blocks of pixels. PNG does not have any of these issues and so it is high quality and clean (at the cost of some extra storage space).
  2. Consistency with other P+ renders on the wiki, where they are also PNGs and transparent. JPGs aren't able to be transparent. While the white background of the JPGs is fine on the wiki's default theme, if someone were to use a different theme or dark mode, the white background would look out of place or distracting.
  3. Avoiding more senseless back-and-forth with another editor who really wanted them to be PNGs. Simple solution to prevent edit warring and it would also stop any attempt of someone trying to upload the CSS version in its place (or worse trying to re-encode the JPG as PNG).

In the event you want to upload some of the other files, the PNGs are available on P+'s download page via the "Modder's Pack" download. They may need to be cropped a bit first though, but seeing as most of your edits have been done on mobile I can imagine that may not be as simple as on desktop. I'll probably get around to the others when I get a chance, so you don't need to bother with them if you don't want to. --CanvasK (talk) 13:47, March 18, 2024 (EDT)
