bËst is an Ice Climber player from Seinäjoki, Finland. He is ranked 6th in the current Finnish Power Rankings.

bËst is known for several things, one of them being that he is one of the few known Ice Climbers mains in Europe. He joined the smash community back in year 2006 when he entered into his first local tournament. He did very well from the beginning placing third in the tournament, which included almost all of the best players Finland had. After that, bËst has continued doing well in tournaments and making his way close to the top, but he has managed to get first only once.

A typical strategy for bËst is the variety in his character choices. He once used 18 different characters in one tournament, which happened to be the only tournament he has won so far. Ice Climbers have always been bËst's trustworthy partners and definitely bËst's most feared characterpick. Nowdays he also uses Samus and Sheik a lot as well.

Typical for bËst is his passion for Doubles gaming. He forms one of the best teams in Finland with his friend Über. Together, they've achieved several tournament victories. It is possible his passion for team play has caused bËst to have problems with motivation in Singles-tournaments. He has said that:

"Singles are not so important for me, I rather play Doubles. Those I enjoy a lot."

Even though bËst has had some troubles with motivation in the past, he has always enjoyed playing Smash at the competitive level. Today, he is much more motivated that he used to be.

bËst is one of the players that doesn't see Brawl as a "good" game. He simply doesn't like the fact that it lacks techniques that are important in Melee competitive play. But because he likes competing, bËst has attended all tournaments Finland has had so far. Even thought he doesn't know the game well at all:

"Ice Climbers are pretty much similiar like they are in Melee. Thats enough for me."

One thing that is important to mention about bËst's gameplay in Melee is his unique and effective style with Ice Climbers. He puts lots of importance on his ability to do well using only one Ice Climber. Instead of using chain combos and other team combos Ice Climbers have, he likes to use them as "well organized individuals" and that seperates bËst from many other Ice Climbers players. bËst jokingly speaks that his true main is Popo himself.
