AozoraX, or just Aozora, is a Melee and Project M Peach main. He is considered a "resurrected" Smasher from Calgary, Alberta, as he rejoined the scene in 2012 after a 6-year hiatus; he showed up suddenly at a regional tournament and took 5th place, putting him back into the Canadian community's attention. Since then, he has ranked quite high in most Melee tournaments he has participated in, and is currently considered one of the premier Peach players in his region. He represented himself internationally for the first time at EVO 2014; he lost to Lord HDL in pools in winners' bracket, then swept through the losers' bracket until losers' finals, where he lost to Connor, resulting in a final placement of 129th overall.

Biography

Aozora is well-liked by the Albertan community due to his amicable traits, such as his respect for the community and passion and knowledge for the game; he is willing to help many who come to him for advice, even though he is only a semi-professional himself. His most notable contribution to his community was when he spearheaded "Otafest: Assault," a provincial tournament within the established conventional event in May, 2013. Otafest: Assault grew to be one of the most popular and well known tournaments of Summer 2013, following up the next summer with "Otafest: Assault II" which brought in major players, such as FalseFalco, Alphicans, and even the internationally renowned Mew2King to Calgary.
