Flamethrower is Charizard's neutral special move. It appears visually similar to Bowser's Fire Breath, though with smaller flames and with longer range. It would appear that they have more priority over Bowser's, as they defeat Bowser's Fire Breath when faced upon one another. The stream of flames can be directed up or down by tilting the thumbstick in a particular direction. The flame dies down the longer the attack is used, but it will never stop, despite the flames becoming extremely small as long as the player keeps holding the special button. This move is fitting to Charizard, and can be said to be its signature move.

Origins

Flamethrower is a very common Fire attack introduced in Generation I in the Pokémon games and is used frequently due to its above average power and near-perfect accuracy. In battle, it has a base power of 95 with 100% accuracy, and can be used 15 times before losing power. It is also Charizard's attack as a Poké Ball summon in the previous two Super Smash Bros. games.
