The Match: The Fight For No. 1, or simply The Match, is an ongoing series of Super Smash Bros. Melee showmatches hosted by Ludwig on December 15th, 2023. Due to the closeness of their respective seasons and the lack of a major-level event to end off the year, Zain, Cody Schwab, and the Melee Stats team agreed that the winner of The Match would be ranked #1 on the SSBMRank 2023. Additionally, the match of Ludwig vs. NoahJ456 was a money match in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate for $20,000, the largest amount for a money match in Smash.
The undercards are first-to-5 and the main match is first-to-10.
