The SSBMRank 2023 lists the world's top 100 Super Smash Bros. Melee players in 2023 as compiled by Melee Stats. The rankings were announced in a series of articles published by start.gg from January 15th-26th, 2024.

For the first time in Smash history, the #1 player was not decided by the panelists, but instead was decided by a special exhibition between Zain and Cody Schwab, with Cody ultimately winning.

Methodology

29 people, such as top players, tournament organizers, writers, and analysts were chosen to be panelists for this edition of SSBMRank. The panelists were asked to rank each ballot-eligible player based on their quality of results from December 19th, 2022 to December 17th, 2023 with a value between 1 and 120, and then each player’s rating was aggregated to a single value based on their distribution of votes.
