Ideas for potential assist trophies and Pokemon.

Name Image Function
Boom Boom
MarioSymbol.svgMario
SSBU spirit Boom Boom.png
Boom Boom uses his spinning attack from Super Mario 3D Land and Super Mario 3D World (as it appears in a 2.5D setting in Super Mario Maker 2). He can be defeated, but only by attacking him from above, as his spinning fists give him invulnerability from the sides. He will always stay on the same platform he was summoned on.
Boo
MarioSymbol.svgMario
SSBU spirit Boo.png
Based on its appearance as an item in Mario Kart, Boo turns the summoner invisible (like the Cloaking Device) for a short amount of time. While this invisibility is active, if any other items spawn, Boo will grab them and bring them to the summoner. If they are already holding an item, Boo will carry the new item behind them until they drop it, but will be unable to grab any further items. Opponents can attack Boo to cause it to drop the items and eventually defeat it, ending the summoner's invisibility early.
Kamek
YoshiSymbol.svgYoshi
NSMBW Kamek.png
As he does prior to boss battles in the Yoshi's Island games, Kamek sprinkles magic over the entire battlefield, which causes two of the following to happen:
  • The summoner becomes giant.
  • The summoner becomes metallic.
  • The summoner is granted invincibility.
  • The summoner is granted Curry breath.
  • All of the opponents are shrunken.
  • All of the opponents are frozen.
  • All of the opponents are slowed down.
  • All of the opponents are put to sleep.
Poochy

Poochy
Poochy functions identically to Gogoat, either as a replacement or just an Assist Trophy equivalent (like Kat/Ana and Latios/Latias).
Burt the Bashful
YoshiSymbol.svgYoshi
from the game's files
Burt bounces about the stage; if he collides with a fighter, they are bounced off but otherwise unharmed. If an attack hits him, his pants fall. If enough attacks land to knock them all the way off, he will "pop" as he does after his battle in Yoshi's Island, sending anyone he hits flying as he rapidly zips throughout the stage.
Grim Leecher
YoshiSymbol.svgYoshi
from the game's spirits
Grim Leecher locks on to an opponent, reversing their controls. In battles with three or more fighters, two Grim Leechers will appear and each lock on to a different opponent.
Ukiki
YoshiSymbol.svgYoshi
from the game's files
A seed-spitting variant of Ukiki appears, wandering the stage and firing off seeds. These seeds do little damage and no knockback, but cause flinching, similar to Staryu/Starmie. The primary difference is that Ukiki traps the opponent for a shorter amount of time but will target multiple opponents before vanishing.
Funky Kong
Symbol of the DK series.Donkey Kong
SSBU spirit Funky Kong.png
Funky Kong functions similarly to Alolan Raichu, flying around the stage on his surfboard, but he does not use electric attacks; instead, he just damages anyone he collides with.
Stanley
Symbol of the DK series.Donkey Kong
SSBU spirit Stanley.png
Stanley moves around spraying small clouds of insect repellant, which remain in that spot for a period of time, damaging anyone who enters them similarly to Piranha Plant's Poison Breath.
Urbosa
ZeldaSymbol.svgThe Legend of Zelda
SSBU spirit Urbosa.png
Urbosa stands in one spot for a moment, then uses Urbosa's Fury, paralyzing all opponents caught in a sphere around her.
ReDead
ZeldaSymbol.svgThe Legend of Zelda
SSBU spirit ReDead.png
ReDead, using its Ocarina of Time design, lumbers slowly about the stage. If an opponent gets too close, it will use its signature scream, paralyzing them.
Yiga Blademaster
ZeldaSymbol.svgThe Legend of Zelda
YigaBlademaster.png
Yiga Blademaster stands in one spot, swinging his Windcleaver. The resulting blasts of wind fly just short of the length of Battlefield, slightly damaging and carrying back any opponents it hits. If they get close enough to be hit by the blade, they are dealt significant damage and knockback. Yiga Blademaster will turn around and start attacking in the other direction if there are no opponents in front of him.
Snow Golem

Snow Golem slowly approaches nearby opponents, pelting them with snowballs. Like in Minecraft, these snowballs do not do damage, but push the opponent backward and can knock them off ledges and interrupt recoveries.
