Somebody please fact-check me on this article, because I wrote it completely from memory. Particularly, I don't remember Dave's Stupid Rule (it's the one about not using any one stage more than once in a round?), and I may be wrong in areas of the "controversy" section. --MaskedMarth 16:44, September 27, 2006 (GMT)

During the TG6 finals which is one of the only times this has come up (since it was like two sets of best of 9 or something), Dave (scamp) himself spoke up that dave's stupid rule was being implemented incorrectly. It's not supposed to disallow picking of a stage that has been picked before in the set, but instead supposed to stop a player from picking the same stage twice in a row on their turns to pick. That way they have to have at least 2 stages in which they're proficient. However, I don't think anybody listened to him, and it's difficult to phrase the rule efficiently that way. To my knowledge, the way the rule is used and enforced today is exactly like you've written it. Usea 19:49, April 6, 2007 (GMT)

Factuallity of legal stages[edit]

Looking at some MLG tournament threads on SWF, I noticed that many more stages were banned than those listed here. Is this list different from official MLG rules? 16BitJorge 23:01, May 25, 2007 (GMT)

Banned moves?[edit]

Why don't we put something up about banned techniques? (Like the Luigi Ladder) For example, me and my brother like to do team battles against a pair of two level 9 CPU's, and when there is only one left, we like to me grab our foe and pummel him until he breaks free, only to be grabbed promptly by my brother and pummeled etc. I'll bet any thing this is banned, but we need a section with banned techniques. I can't do it, I don't know anything about tournament play. Is anyone up for it? Maxiscool (talk) 21:07, 20 June 2008 (UTC)

It isn't banned. Computers are easy to do shit on. Don't get grabbed kids. Grim Tuesday (talk) 01:40, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

New Legal List[edit]

Pokemon stadium is now a counterpick, as decided by SBR. corneria is also on the banned list

A question: In this article, Mute City is a counterpick, But the Mute City articlesays it's a banned stage. Who is rigth?

Soul Breaker[edit]

Is there any reason the Soul Breaker glitch appears under "banned glitches" when it appears to require a red shell, and items are banned? Mako Shark (talk) 16:07, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Perhaps in case another way to execute it is discovered. Toomai Glittershine Toomai.png 16:08, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
I removed the Soul Breaker from the list of banned glitches, the only way to perform it requires an item, which are already banned. The glitch is also never mentioned in the new MBR ruleset. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 16:15, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Yo-yo Glitch[edit]

this has never been banned --JiffyD (talk) 01:50, 24 September 2018 (EDT)
