Samuel Felinton (formerly known as TheSamFZ) is a Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament organizer from West Virginia, who mains King K. Rool. He is most known for being the co-founder and majority owner of the disbanded esports organization Taipan Esports, and the West Virginia board of Esports.
On April 3, 2021, Samuel Felinton organized his first tournament.[1] By January 1, 2022, he had already hosted hundreds of events and awarded over $10,000 in prize pools. Among his tournaments, the most popular series include Taipan Smash Singles, Smash After Dark, and the Taipan Holiday Tournaments. On November 17, 2021, Felinton became an official Trolli League tournament organizer.[2] Later, on September 12, 2022, Felinton, together with Keeg, announced the suspension of Taipan Esports’ operations until further notice.[3]
Outside of tournament organizing, Samuel Felinton has also pursued a minor broadcasting career. On June 11, 2021, he began streaming for the Smash Crew Server. His final crew battle stream took place on September 1, 2021. During this period, he broadcast as many as 100 crew battles, including a Smashcords matchup between Team Hero and Team Shulk.[4]
