I realized that a lot of the "rules" we have on User/user talk pages aren't really official rules, so I have written this policy to include them. If you feel that my proposal is missing certain things, please suggest edits to the policy. Mr. Anon (talk) 22:03, 31 July 2011 (EDT)

Policy needs to undergo a spelling/grammar/typo check. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 22:05, 31 July 2011 (EDT)

The user talk page stuff should can merged with SW:UTPG. As a whole, I oppose. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER}
First of all, this is an "update" to the current policies. Second of all, SW:UTPG are "guidelines", not actual policies. Mr. Anon (talk) 00:19, 1 August 2011 (EDT)
Is SW:UTPG somehow inadequate? We don't have issues with User talk pages that would be resolved with creating a policy. DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 21:57, 1 August 2011 (EDT)
SW:UTPG is inadequate, as it allows users to remove content from their talk pages. There currently is no rule prohibiting that, and it is better to have a written rule than an unwritten rule. Mr. Anon (talk) 00:38, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
And the problem with adding that to SW:UTPG is...? DoctorPain99 {ROLLBACKER} 09:17, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
There are also some fields on this proposal that are inadequate. This proposal likewise doesn't advise replying on one's own talk page. Additionally, SW:UTPG seemingly has everything explained a bit better, considering the examples on it, and such. The pages overlap each other where the other one's got something missing. Like the Doctor suggested, content missing from SW:UTPG can simply be added there, assuming that there isn't too much missing. So basically, the page that has the least points missing can be edited to have them added. Smiddle 君怒る? 12:32, 2 August 2011 (EDT)
I already said this, but I will say it again. This is already an update to the current guidelines, except it adds stuff that is missing from both the user and user talk page guidelines, as well as makes them an actual policy rather than just guidelines. So yeah, you could call this a replacement to SW:UTPG, because this is an actual policy. If there is something on SW:UTPG that you feel belongs here, feel free to make note of it. I already added the thing about keeping conversations on the same place. Mr. Anon (talk) 14:18, 2 August 2011 (EDT)

On second thought[edit]

I currently am dropping this policy for now, though I may bring it up again if a large amount of issues do come up. Instead I will work on making updates to SW:UTPG. Mr. Anon (talk) 22:12, 3 August 2011 (EDT)
