Little Mac (SSBU)/Forward tilt
Overview[edit]
Little Mac punches the opponent twice as he steps forward, once with each fist. The most glaring attribute of this move is its combination of speed and power, capable of consistently killing below 100% near the ledge, sometimes as low as 70%, all while being frame 4.
As such, forward tilt is a popular whiff punishing option in situations where forward smash is too slow. Also, down tilt leads into it on heavier opponents at lower percents, being a bread-and-butter combo in those matchups.
When utilizing pivot cancelling, Little Mac is granted a sizeable amount of instant burst range while doing a forward tilt, effectively giving him a second dash attack with better kill power at the expense of consistency due to the move's multi-hit nature.
However, the move has a glaring weakness in its lack of shield safety (a recurring theme throughout Little Mac's moveset), being -17 without a disjoint. This means that without careful use, Little Mac can be punished by every character in the game. Only at max spacing will forward tilt be difficult to punish, but this only occurs in rare circumstances.
Update History[edit]
Forward tilt's hits connect more reliably against opponents in the air.
