Luigi is the best, he is agile and good at jumping and has fire jump punch. He also has both vertical and horisontal recovery. There only problem is that he can't do both at the same time :-(. Dr. Mario is the worst because he's so fat that he's slow. Tuth the tough Mii You got owned! Visit Mint Brick Wiki!

I find it highly amusing that you make this after adamantly saying that there are no tiers... Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 23:29, October 7, 2009 (UTC)

Well, the history of who is better is actually profoundly rooted in the Celtic tradition of drinking a lot of beer, sacrificing exceedingly large quantities of Peeps (around 7.4652 * 10^14 (YOWZAH That's a Big Number!!!)), and then putting a virgin to death so that your rock band can make it big but oops she's not a virgin because she's Megan Fox. Humorous anecdote #1: turns out that she was given a Chozo Power Suit, and now fights crime at the behest of the Office of Drugs, Prostitutes, and Exceedingly Hairy Yeti Control on the Isle of Avalon in southeastern Sarajevo. Antway the Celts really all just collectively, as a race, wanted to be doctors. But after they were visited by mustached men they realized that they also wanted to be Italian (and thereby, plumbers, see page for a detailed explanation of why). But, due to teen angst issues, a breakout of herpes, mass media, globalization, the decline of Egyptian cotton prices (Humorous anecdote #2: the decline of Egyptian cotton prices also led to a series of Irish famines culminating in the consumption of leather shoes and Boris Yeltson), McDonald's replacing the double cheese burger with the folly that is the McDouble (Humorous anecdotes #3: the cause of all famines aside from Irish potato famines and Rosie O'Donnell not having second breakfast (Sub-Humorous anecdote #3: she is, in fact, a hobbit with gigantism) is the removal of that single beef patty from the McDouble on the McDonald's dollar menu), and the extinction of several species of finch that, instead of having beaks as Darwin predicted, instead were given by evolution rabbit's feet, some of these Celts decided they wanted to be just plain mustached Italians. So, the battle between the Celts who wanted to be Italians, and the Celts who wanted to be Italians and doctors began, leading to the invention of trench warfare and the crossbow bolt. So, who's better? I dunno. You'll have to find out for yourself. But that's the backstory. 13375poolR (talk) 03:11, October 8, 2009 (UTC) Doc wins HANDS DOWN!!!!! Doc is the strongest and the best combo builder out of the 3. And Tuth, Doc is not fat and slow, Where u at?! Doc King (talk) 15:52, June 5, 2010 (UTC) Read the tier list guys. I just think Dr. Mario is way better than the other 2.--Megatron1 (talk) 16:04, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

I don't necessarily always agree w/ the tier list, but I do agree that Dr. Mario is way better than the other two. I wish he was in Brawl. They should have at least had him for an alternate costume or something. Dr. Pain 99 (talk) 01:54, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

No way. I recently played as him. He is EXACTLY like Mario. There is literally NO difference between the Doc and the real thing. In any case they're the same character. Mr. Anon (talk) 02:06, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
You're horribly mistaken. Actually test all of their attacks before making such a false claim. I won't get into everything here, but his f-smash is stronger with an electric effect and no sourspot, his b-throw is stronger, and his fair performs drastically different than Mario's. Instead of being a very weak meteor, it is a very powerful aerial with vertical knockback, Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:10, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Most importantly, The Doc is stronger and harder to KO than the "real thing." Dr. Pain 99 (talk) 02:19, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe I was exaggerating, but they're still pretty much the same. Dr. has a few more powerful attacks, shoots pills instead of fire, but other than that they're pretty much the same. He does not deserve to be in the next SSB. Mr. Anon (talk) 02:23, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well they should have changed Mario's attacks to resemble Dr. Mario's. Dr. Pain 99 (talk) 02:27, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
They're similar, but are not "pretty much the same thing". All of their attacks contain different hitboxes but again, I am not going to compare all of their attacks right here (no two characters have a attack with the same exact hitboxes). Since he's essentially Mario, Dr.Mario shouldn't be his own character but he should be brought back as an alternative costume for Mario, along with having the megavitamins, his f-smash, and his fair. Wario got one and I don't see why Mario shouldn't. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:30, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe that's what they should do in the next smash. Every character should have an alternate costume with slightly different moves. Dr. Pain 99 (talk) 02:36, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Maybe for some characters but certainly not for everyone. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 02:38, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Well 64'Wario does't have different moves than Warioware Wario. I'm not sure the pallete swap thing is a good idea, as it will make team battles heck of annoying. Mr. Anon (talk) 03:33, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
Unrelated note: Warioware Wario sucks. "64 Wario" looks way cooler. Dr. Pain 99 (talk) 03:41, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
But in Mario's and Dr.Mario's case, it makes perfect sense, especially since Dr.Mario was more popular than Mario in Melee and there were many people that were disappointed that he didn't return in Brawl. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 03:43, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
True, but he shouldn't have different moves. Mr. Anon (talk) 03:45, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
There isn't much of a reason to give Dr.Mario different moves in this scenario but I did like his Megavitamins, f-smash, and fair alot more than Mario's (they were also much better attacks) and they are what distinguished Dr.Mario from Mario the most. Wouldn't it be more sensible to those who played Melee for him to shoot a burst of electricity from his hand rather than a fireball? Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 03:55, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
They should have just replaced Mario with Doc. Doc King (talk) 18:15, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Now I did like Dr. Mario much more than regular Mario, but replacing Mario with Dr. Mario is just preposterous. Mario is Nintendo's mascot, Dr. Mario is just an alter ego. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:19, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I see what ur sayin' Mario is like the classic man of nintendo and needs to be respected by that. Ok so what do you think of Luigi? Doc King (talk) 18:47, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Luigi is more important than Dr. Mario. He's Mario's bro. Dr. Mario just a different form.--MegaTron1XDDecepticon.png 18:49, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Well, for me, Dr. Mario is more important than both of them because I'm the King of Docs and so I happen to be really, really good with Doc. Plus Dr. Mario is like a luck charm to me. Doc King (talk) 18:51, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
I already made my point about Dr. Mario returning above. When it comes to how much I liked them in Melee, it goes Dr. Mario > Luigi > Mario. Also, Luigi should be in every SSB game. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:54, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
I don't really like Mario when compared to Doc because in my opinion, Mario is somewhat a rip off of Doc. Luigi is ok if you like to wavedash a lot XD. Doc King (talk) 18:56, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Wait a minute, Dr. Mario is the same guy as Mario. He may have different moves, but that doesn't make him a different character. Dr. Mario hasn't appeared in any Mario game except for spinoffs. He's not even a powerup. You might as well have another Link with different moves. Oh wait.... Regardless of whether Doc has different hitboxes, nearly every single one of his moves is similar to one of Mario's. Mr. Anon (talk) 20:26, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
I thought we reached an understanding here? Just because they're clones do not make them the same character, but I do not feel like debating that right now. I agree he shouldn't be brought back as a stand alone character, but should be brought back as an alternate costume. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 20:36, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Uh, guys your discussion is getting indented way too far. I suggest you take this to IRC or a new forum. Dr. Pain 99 Dp99.png Talk 19:17, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
Just reset the indent. All someone needs to do is respond and put (reset indent) before their post. This is a completely legit forum that is actually having (mostly) well thought out responses. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 22:29, June 19, 2010 (UTC)
That's alright Dr. Pain, I'm already done replying to this forum. Otherwise, I would have responded sooner. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 19:21, June 19, 2010 (UTC)

Doc. He's better than Mario in every way outside of recovery (which is pretty minor, considering how many options he has) and Luigi suffers from the same lack of reach that the others have, just with low movement speed and an extremely gimpable recovery. Iron Gladiator (talk) 22:19, 23 October 2017 (EDT)

A better recovery is needed for all three of them. It's no secret they might do better on stages with no edges. I'm not a Melee purist though I've seen how things work in other games. -Max Eliteness
