Hitbox visualization showing Captain Falcon's down throw.

Captain Falcon slams the opponent down hard on the ground, launching them, and is his only throw to lack a collateral hitbox. Combined with its great angle and low knockback overall, it is a great combo starter, and an essential move for playing Captain Falcon, due to the plethora of combos available. It is most notably able to combo into his up aerial, which can combo into itself, a forward aerial, neutral aerial, or a down aerial from an airdodge read. Down throw can also combo straight into forward aerial, being a very powerful combo, capable of killing as low as 60% on mid weights at the ledge. Neutral aerial also works as a great combo extender, as it can combo into itself or a forward aerial, and back aerial can be used as well. Overall, despite doing the lowest damage of Falcon's throws, it provides a large amount of utility for Falcon, making his grab dangerous, as he can get big damage off a single down throw.
