Your Edit to Smash Arena Round 232

Hi! Thanks for all the useful contributions you have been making, It's really appreciated. However, when you edited the Smash Arena just now, you removed a line of code, causing the page to... well, break. I've sorted it out for now, but please be more careful in the future. Again, thanks for all your contributions. ScoreCounter 07:22, 16 December 2014 (EST)

Shoot, okay I'll be on the lookout for that kind of thing.--Dinodomain (talk) 14:17, 16 December 2014 (EST)

"remix"

FYI, Smash itself uses the term "remix" for new arrangements of tracks, so it's not a term you should go out of your way to change. Miles (talk) 18:39, 23 February 2015 (EST)

Maybe it there is a should be noted in the article that term is sometimes used incorrectly by Nintendo? (Where in the game/games does it say this, remind me?) That being said a number of the tracks are remixes in earnest.--Dinodomain (talk) 04:09, 25 February 2015 (EST)

When creating a page...

...try putting some effort into it. A page you recently created has nothing but an intro sentence and a link, well below the minimum for our standards. You can look at related pages and their code to see how it's done. Berrenta (talk) 21:59, 7 April 2015 (EDT)

Sorry about that, I had to leave my computer for a bit, I'll get some more up in a sec.--Dinodomain (talk) 22:01, 7 April 2015 (EDT)

Wait up man

A lot of your edits are worded weirdly, are factually incorrect, or are flat out unnecessary. Please check your edits over for quality every time. Thanks Serpent King (talk) 16:12, 2 August 2015 (EDT)

KK I'll be sure to do that.--Dinodomain (talk) 18:50, 2 August 2015 (EDT)

Hey...

Don't you think you're making too many categories? Do we really need categories like ""2013/2014 SSBMRank players"? Seems a bit unnecessary to me. PokemonMasterJamal3 (talk) 17:22, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

Category:American tournaments is getting a bit bloated and it's useful to have subcategories for exactly where particular tournaments are (the USA is a pretty big place, no?) As for having SSBMRank categories its important because these are the 100 best players of a particular year, likewise a top-25 distinction is used to further idenify the best of the best.--Dinodomain (talk) 18:00, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

A little comment from the peanut gallery: California is really the only state that needs split into multiple categories. And just North and South will do there. Serpent King (talk) 15:45, 6 August 2015 (EDT)

It seems like there's a number of other below-state level power rankings, and Central Cali is one of them.--Dinodomain (talk) 19:12, 6 August 2015 (EDT)
I suppose CenCal would be ok, but not Pennsylvanian. Also, when dealing with categories, you want to create only categories that will not end up having all of the same articles as an existing one. In the end Category:Supermajors is going to have the same articles as Category:National tournaments. Serpent King (talk) 19:19, 6 August 2015 (EDT)
I've always heard of Pennsylvania being divided into at least two distinct cultural zones, since it's divided by mountains along the middle. Along these lines there's never been a Pennsylvania state power ranking ever created. As for the Super Majors, I suppose there not a formal definition at this point but it's generally though that there' only been about 4 or so a year, compared to say the 10+ nationals that happened last year.--Dinodomain (talk) 19:24, 6 August 2015 (EDT)

EVO Circuit 2007

Put those back on the EVO 2007 page. There's no need to creat four news pages if it's just to place results and dates. Expand on each EVO circuit section first and if there's enough content, move to a standalone page. PFFP (talk) 22:50, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

They were separate tournaments, why shouldn't they have their own pages. Anyways I'll see if I can dig up more information online about the tourneys, if no I guess they can go back to the EVO World page.--Dinodomain (talk) 22:54, 5 August 2015 (EDT)
They were actually already existing tournaments that gave up their names on that year to host a EVO Circuit tournament. I don't know all the names, but that's what I got from digging up the SRK forums. There seems to be almost nothing else to say about those tournaments except their results, and since they're part of the EVO 2007 circuit, I don't see why they can't be listed as subsections of that page.PFFP (talk) 22:58, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

Use talk pages

If you're planning a sweeping change that involves more than a few pages, it is almost always advisable to seek consensus on a related talk page before beginning your work. I appreciate your desire to improve pages and implement new categories and the like, but things like broad changes of formatting and categorization should be checked with others first. Miles (talk) 23:20, 5 August 2015 (EDT)

Do you agree with some of the categories I've been creating, let's start with that. Tbh I'm not sure exactly where to ask, other than just directly messaging people who are active.--Dinodomain (talk) 19:11, 6 August 2015 (EDT)
This is fine. When in doubt go with the place you are being called out on. Serpent King (talk) 19:13, 6 August 2015 (EDT)
As far as my personal opinion goes, I'm not sure we need to distinguish more than by region. That's the kind of thing that you'd want to discuss before implementing, is what I'm getting at. Miles (talk) 19:21, 6 August 2015 (EDT)
I agree with Miles. IMO the term "major" and "super major" is arbitrary. By what standards someone categorizes a tournament? Important attendance or cheer number of entrants? WTFox is being called a Super Major despite the low entrance numbers, due to many top players being there, but no one disagrees that EVO, Apex and CEO are today some of the most important tournaments in any Smash player radar. If anything, the Largest Smash Tournaments page already gives a hint to what are the mega event series for the scene.PFFP (talk) 20:16, 6 August 2015 (EDT)

Using Show Preview

Hello, Dinodomain, I see that you have made several consecutive edits to the same page. I want to point out the Show Preview button. It's right next to the Save Page button when you edit. You should use it whenever you are making a lot of experimental edits, for example when you are trying to get formatting right. Using the Show Preview button is quicker and easier than saving and clicking "edit" again, and will keep Recent Changes and page histories from being flooded. Thanks, RickTommy 05:39, 13 August 2015 (EDT)

I feel like it's safer to make multiple small edits because I'm on mobile a lot and I also have bad internet that I have to share with others.--Dinodomain (talk) 19:58, 13 August 2015 (EDT)

Holy crap dude, keep up the good work

You're one of the best new editors I've seen lately. Keep up the good work man. You've done such a huge amount. F0rZ3r0F0r (talk) 19:47, 28 August 2015 (EDT)

Thanks for your kind words. Unfortunately I'm going to be busier in a few weeks so my level of activity will go a down a lot. In the mean time I'll get done what I can.--Dinodomain (talk) 20:52, 28 August 2015 (EDT)

Regarding [[Category:Ontario smashers==
