2GGT is a Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament series held on a monthly/bi-monthly basis, mainly in the South California region. First held in December 2015, it is organized and directed by Champ and the 2GGaming team. Each event is dedicated towards a particular player or a group of players that are flown out to compete. 2GGT is largely praised due to the overall efficiency and quality of the tournaments: despite many of them housing well over 300 entrants, singles, doubles and side events were hosted from start to finish in a single day with no time constraints. It has quickly grown in popularity since its inspection, having hosted some of the largest tournaments for Smash 4 of all time.

Trivia

  • 2GGT's namesake is a reference to Dragon Ball GT, and as such, its main logo is also inspired by it, and each event typically follows a "[featured player] Saga" nomenclature, much like Dragon Ball's own naming convention for each saga.
  • None of the featured players have managed to win their own saga as of yet. This is commonly referred to as the "saga curse."
