[[VGBootCamp]] president [[Smasher:GimR|GimR]] released a statement detailing that the "YP" tag would not be present in player Bizzarro Flame's tag due to VGBootCamp's desire to refrain from including potentially suggestive and inappropriate content associated with the adult media site in the wake of younger viewers. This sparked a backlash by members of the community who believe that the letters "YP" are too vague to be identifiable by viewers who are unfamiliar with the team as well as the fact that Team YP is a legitimate sponsor and is being stiffed from receiving their end of the sponsorship deal by not being given ample publicity despite financing Bizzarro Flame.

Team YP (YP) was the esports branch of pornography website YouPorn, with teams in Dota 2 and Overwatch. The team expanded into Melee when they picked up Melee Ganondorf player Bizzarro Flame on June 8th, 2015. However, Bizzarro Flame retired from the competitive scene on February 2nd, 2016 to focus on his career as an attorney. Team YP later ventured again in the Smash scene, this time by signing the Smash 4 Captain Falcon player Fatality on June 17th, 2017. Fatality left the team one year later and Team YP has since remained inactive.
