Deletion

Honestly, while I know this was deleted multiple times, I think this page have potential, as it is very common in places such as AiB or SWF(especially the "That Ain't Falco" line). There is also a .gif file(seen here). This is an encyclopedia for smash, and honestly, this is very relevant to smash.21:59, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

No Delete or I take your sysop powers. Wombo combo is beyond notable. It's iconic. Smash is where it comes from, and on this wiki it will stay. Clarinet Hawk (talk · contributions) 22:52, January 26, 2010 (UTC)

Don't threaten him with removal of adminship. I agree that this article should stay, but if you de-sysop someone because they disagree with you on deletion, that's abuse of bureaucratship. Besides, RAN isn't a sysop. 98.117.158.220 00:22, January 27, 2010 (UTC)
He wasn't talking to RAN, which was obvious when you consider the fact that RAN has no sysop powers which could be removed, which you yourself pointed out... And no, it's not really "abuse of bureaucratship" - if, by deleting the article, CHawk felt that the sysop in question had demonstrated that they were not competent enough to use the sysop powers, he would be well within his rights as a Bureaucrat to take their powers. In fact, he wouldn't be doing his job properly if he were to do anything else. PenguinofDeath 10:52, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

A Wombo Combo is a shine jump-canceled to an Up smash, please make two pages for these separate events. 96.244.39.42 00:50, January 27, 2010 (UTC)

Hey let's try merging it with HomeMadeWaffles' page. He's a well known commentator for some of the most intense tournament matches in Melee history, and he coined the term! 67.10.177.73 23:42, February 4, 2010 (UTC)
Or let's not... The only thing that connects the two is that HMW was commenting on the match in which it took place. He wasn't responsible for the combo taking place, so it doesn't make sense to include it on his page. Seeing as it took two players to carry it out, it also wouldn't make sense to merge it with either smasher's page. The only option left is to keep the page as it is, which works out fine as the Wombo Combo is notable enough to deserve its own page anyway. So, as was previously decided, the page stays as it is. Moving the UGS combo to another article

I think we should move the UGS combo to another article because it's not a Wombo Combo. Doc King (talk) 15:45, June 5, 2010 (UTC)

Vote against deletion

I think that the wombo combo shouldn't be deleted as it reached a million view, is very famous (has some Smash Boards forums), and it has been added to many smash stuff. Doc King (talk) 16:37, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Opposed Yes, this is notable. As Doc said, this video is very famous among the Smash community, and it's even considered a meme by Know Your Meme. I really don't see how you consider this not notable Miles. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 17:15, 24 February 2011 (EST)

Also look at the previous discussion about this page. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 17:17, 24 February 2011 (EST)

It's more of a "we need a set of criteria for videos on whether they merit a page" than anything. Miles (talk) 17:51, 24 February 2011 (EST)
The Wombo Combo is obviously more than just a video. Refute the points in favor of this article in both this and the previous discussion, or I'm going to remove the deletion tag. Omega Tyrant TyranitarMS.png 18:00, 24 February 2011 (EST)
I fail to see how a meme or a video over a certain number of views merits an article unless we establish it as a standard that such articles merit existence. If that's the case, then what would you say of other very well-known things like the previously deleted Smashtasm, or else the infamous Brawl Taunts video(s)? Miles (talk) 18:12, 24 February 2011 (EST)
Unlike Brawl taunts, the Wombo Combo is actual footage of a smash bros. game (SSBM) and it was in the very beginning a tourney match of Melee and then became a video, some smash boards and reward stuff, etc. I mean we have Brawl- as an article, why can't we have this? Doc King (talk) 18:19, 24 February 2011 (EST)
Brawl- is a famous hack btw. There is no reason to delete the Wombo Combo, which has gained as much or even more rep than the Ken Combo. I oppose. MegaTron1XD:p 18:22, 24 February 2011 (EST)
The wombo combo, like Mega1 said is more popular than the ken combo and the wombo combo is a team combo, metagame improving thing. It's also very known to smashers and also random people. Doc King (talk) 18:26, 24 February 2011 (EST)
