truetears is an Australian Smash 64 player who mains Fox. His preferred controllers are the Keyboard and the Hori Mini Pad.

For most of his career he posed as a female player with the tag Emmi Zhang. Under this tag, he was known for his extraordinary technical skill and for inventing the shield shine cancel with Fox, which he often used to break shields as seen here. He was also instrumental in creating a Smash 64 Australian Skype group, which helped revitalize the scene. He was recruited by TR3G and was ranked 1st on the Australian Power Rankings in 2014. However in the same year he revealed his true identity[1] and players discovered that he used TAS to perform most of his combos, as the Smash 64 scene in Australia was mostly online. Although he was kicked out of the community,[2] his actions have since become a running joke in the Australian Smash 64 community. With the renaissance of interest within the 64 community coming to life in 2023 post-covid, the Australian community is in hopes that Emmi Zhang returns and stays for good, as many current players have him to thank for joining the scene in the first place.
