However he is probably most known for his contributions towards building a Smash community in the Marriland forums. He is also one of the few, if not the only person to representative his country internationally.  
He consistently performed well in New Zealand tournaments during the resurgence of New Zealand Smash in 2014 and is widely regarded as one of the country's top smashers.  


When Gyko first played ''Melee'', he originally mained [[Samus]]. He purchased the game in 2009 currently mains [[Marth]] and [[Fox]] although often plays different characters as well.  
When SpeedyJ first played ''[[Melee]]'', he originally mained {{SSBM|Samus}}. He picked up {{SSBM|Marth}} when he decided to start taking the game seriously in 2010 before eventually settling with Captain Falcon in 2015.


Gyko picked up ''Super Smash Bros Brawl'' on its release and continued to play Samus, his main at the time, before switching to [[Mr. Game & Watch]] who he primarily played for the duration of 2008 and 2009 before maining "every character in the game".
