He traveled to Northern California about once every other month to compete with most smashers from the West Coast. After reportedly despising the "direction" in which the ''Brawl'' metagame had advanced towards, Mike Haze returned to the ''Melee'' scene, still playing his former main, Fox. However, he has not made any significant impacts in tournaments since returning to the game.

Mike Haze is a professional Melee and Brawl player who resides in Burbank, California. His main characters in Melee and Brawl are Fox and Marth, respectively. He is the host of the Elite 4 tournament series in southern California, and was a member of the Unity Ruleset Committee.

Mike Haze is currently ranked 9th on the SoCal Melee Power Rankings and was formerly ranked 6th on the West Coast Brawl Power Rankings.

Background

Mike Haze began playing Melee in 2006, after seeing HugS play at a tournament his school held. His first tournament was Champ Combo: Yayuhzzzz Edition.

Mike Haze eventually met a smasher by the name of INKS, who lived about 10 minutes away from him. Through INKS, Mike Haze learned advanced techs. INKS eventually moved, however. Mike Haze then ventured off to play new people, and is responsible for training/teaching smash to players such as Nes, Morb, and Tofu. He is responsible for the bringing together of a lot of the 818 smash community. He hosts smashfests at least a few times a week.

Up until April of 2007, Mike Haze attended tournaments about 1-2 times a month, until he stopped playing the game when his musical career took off. He marched with the Velvet Knights Drum and Bugle Corps. which took up all of his summer and a lot of time prior to that.

In September of 2007, Mike Haze began playing Melee again. Eventually, Mike Haze grew close to fellow smashers Mango and LuCKy, and they invited Mike Haze's (as the time) current crew (team 8bit - composed of Nes, Morb, and j666) to join Roundtable, forming the crew RoundBit.

As of 2008, Mike Haze began playing Brawl for fun, while playing Melee competitively throughout Southern California. After a 3rd place finish at Nexus 08, Mike Haze retired from Melee.

Mike Haze then played Super Smash Bros. Brawl competitively, and was ranked 3rd on the Southern California Power Rankings prior to his retirement. He traveled to Northern California about once every other month to compete with most smashers from the West Coast. He is still generally considered the best Brawl Marth player in the United States, as he has beat top players such as Ally before in tournament, and has significantly outperformed other Marths in the country.

After reportedly despising the "direction" in which the Brawl metagame had advanced towards, Mike Haze returned to the Melee scene, still playing his former main, Fox.
