Trivia

  • During the final game of his set against Logic at School Is In Session 6, on the final stock, Judo would catch Logic mashing out of hitstun after hitting him with Vanish, and punish it with Sheik's sweetspotted up smash, KOing Logic and securing the win. However as he hit Logic with the up smash, he paused, while the tournament had the normal pause rule in effect where any pause would require an automatic forfeiture of a stock, and since Judo was also on his last stock, this led to the win being overturned. Logic offered to replay the game instead of taking the automatic win as the rule would have dictated, but would go on to beat Judo in the rematch. This decision was met with controversy shortly after on the SmashBoards result thread, with arguments over if the rule should still be enforced in situations when the opponent was inevitably going to be KO'd, and at the tournament itself, with the crowd loudly booing when Logic won the rematch. This match would play a part in tournaments adopting an "inevitable death clause", where pauses are ignored in such situations where a player was going to be KO'd no matter what they did, such as after being hit by a KO move at an unsurvivable percent.
