Fireballs are projectiles launched by Mario and Luigi by using their neutral B attacks. Originating from the 1985 NES game, Super Mario Bros., it was obtained by grabbing a Fire Flower, which would change Mario's outfit to red and white. It is their normal B move, and it is used by Mario in all three games. Mario's Fireballs shoot in an angle changing with the angle of the battlefield, while Luigi's are completely unaffected by gravity. Both upon connection cause minor damage and flinching common with other firebased attacks. Kirby can also use the Fireball move by performing his Swallow move on either Mario or Luigi.
Dr. Mario has a similar projectile called Megavitamins.
