Arcfire (ギガファイアー, Gigafire) is Robin's side special move in Super Smash Bros. 4.

Overview

Upon use, Robin produces a ball of fire above his head, which travels in an angle downward. When an opponent is hit by this ball of flame, it bursts into a pillar of fire, trapping the opponent. This inflicts 10% damage upon the foe, but has low K.O. potential. This move also sets Robin's active Tome to Arcfire, if not already in use.

After 6 uses, the fire tome will be discarded due to durability being used up by Robin and he/she will only perform the animation for the spell with no special effects during this time. The cooldown time is 10 seconds, which after that, Robin's fire tome will be replaced with a new one and the move can be used again.

Customization

Special Move customization was added in Super Smash Bros. 4. These are the variations:

  1. Arcfire+: The spell explodes when it lands. Takes longer to cast.
  2. Fire Wall: Create a pillar of flame that can guard against attacks.

Origin

The Arc- (or "Giga" in the Japanese versions) series is the third stage of anima tomes, and was introduced in Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn. Arcfire, as its name implies, is the fire variant. The pose that Robin makes is the same as the ones that the mages in the GBA games do when they use tomes.
