Unown
Unown (アンノーン, Annōn, Unknown in original Japanese language versions) is a Pokémon that comes out of a Poké Ball.
Appearance
Unown does not have one appearance but multiple appearances. The two things that all the Unowns have in common is that they are all black and they have one eye. There are a total of 26 different Unowns in Super Smash Brothers Melee. Each of the Unowns represent a letter of the alphabet. The Unowns can be identified if the player pays attention to the ones that come out of a Poké Balls.
Role
The Unowns make their only appearance in Melee and appear out of Poké Balls. Unown's attack is Hidden Power, similar to Onix and Beedrill's attacks in Super Smash Brothers. When Unown is summoned, a random letter of Unown flies off the screen. A group of Unown's will then start falling down diagonally from the top of the screen. Any character that makes contact with the swarm of Unown's will take damage. The character that made contact with the Unowns will also be forced to the top of the screen. The character even has a chance of dying at low percentages. Unown's attacks does not harm the summoner.
