With how many third-party universes that are being included in the Smash series recently, whether they get playable fighters or not, I decided to make a safe-haven for potential third-party candidates which anyone can include, provided they follow the ruleset.

Portal (ポータル, Portal) is a series of first-person puzzle-platform games by Valve that follow a woman named Chell, who is forced to undergo a series of tests within the Aperture Science Enrichment Center by a malicious artificial intelligence, GLaDOS, that controls the facility. Most of the tests involve using the "Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device" (also known as the "portal gun"), which creates a human-sized wormhole-like connection between two flat surfaces, which Chell or objects can move through while conserving their momentum, allowing complex "flinging" maneuvers to be used to cross wide gaps or perform other feats to reach the exit for each test chamber.

Genshin Impact (原神, Genshin) is an action role-playing gacha game developed and published by miHoYo. The game features an open-world environment in a vain similar to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and an action-based battle system using elemental magic and character-switching. Genshin Impact takes place in the fantasy world of Teyvat, which is home to seven distinct nations, each of which is tied to an element and ruled by a god associated with it. The story follows a twin, referred to as the "Traveler", who has traveled across many worlds with their twin but has become separated from them by an unknown god in Teyvat. The Traveler travels across Teyvat in search of the lost sibling with their companion Paimon and becomes involved in the affairs of the other nations, gods, and the world.

Hyperdimension Neptunia (超次元ゲイム ネプテューヌ, Super Dimensional Game Neptune) is a series of role-playing games developed and published by Compile Heart and Idea Factory. The games take place in a world called Gamindustri, in which it is divided into four regions, each ruled by one CPU: Planeptune, Lastation, Lowee and Leaanbox, each representing a video game console, which are the Sega Neptune (a cancelled two-in-one Sega Genesis and 32X console), PlayStation, Wii and Xbox, respectively. The gameplay is similar to that of the visual novel genre, but also features 3D-style dungeons to explore, which feature random encounters, treasure chests, and various obstacles.

The game was originally a Pokémon fangame on the site titled Pokémon Brick Bronze before getting it taken down for a DMCA strike. The game follows the player as they attempt to uncover the mysteries behind the stone tablet found in Mitis Dig Site that causes an outbreak of Corrupt Loomians throughout Roria.

OneShot (ワンショット, OneShot) is a puzzle and adventure indie game developed by Future Cat and published by Degica in 2014, and remade in 2016. Officially described as a game where "the world knows you exist", both its gameplay and plot involve metafictional elements. Many puzzles involve interacting with the operating system outside of the game application. Narratively, the player is a separate character from the protagonist Niko; both arrive in an unfamiliar world which has been deprived of its sunlight, and eventually aim to restore it by replacing its sun, a light bulb, at the top of a tower.

Touhou Project (東方Project, Touhou Project) is a series of bullet hell shoot 'em up games created nearly singlehandedly by a single creator, ZUN. The series primarily focuses on Reimu Hakurei, the miko of Hakurei Shrine who is often tasked with resolving supernatural incidents caused in and around the sealed land called Gensokyo. It is notably popular as a source of dōjin content, with the series spawning a vast body of fan-made works; the long-running series can reasonably be considered one of the most popular among Japanese-developed indie games.
