Melee It On Me, often abbreviated as MIOM, is a biweekly podcast series, website, and community platform that discusses news and headlines within the Melee community. Founded by American smasher Scar, the platform was founded primarily in response to controversies at Revival of Melee 5. The podcast focuses on topics surrounding the Melee community, including recaps of recent tournaments, discussion on the latest community headlines, and previews of upcoming tournaments.

Melee It On Me also maintains the SSBMRank, a power ranking for the top 100 Melee players in the world.

History

Despite having its tournament scene become "revived", with attendance of tournaments continuing to grow in large numbers, the Melee community still lacked a significant social media presence and organization for several years in the post-Brawl era. Following controversies in the semi-finals at Revival of Melee 5, Scar created a Facebook group entitled "Melee It On Me" in an effort to complement the Skype meeting broadcast that had been called for in the aftermath of Revival of Melee 5. The Skype meeting panelists, Scar, Prog, Hyuga, and Cactuar, used the broadcast to discuss what went wrong at ROM 5 and inform the community how to prevent a similar controversy from occurring in future tournaments. The broadcast proved successful in both viewership and influence, which later caused Scar to make Melee It On Me a regular podcast.

Melee It On Me was initially intended to improve the Melee community; however, it has since evolved to discuss a variety of other topics about the competitive Melee community. Following the Revival of Melee 5 controversy, Melee It On Me's podcasts proved instrumental for getting Melee into EVO 2013 over Skullgirls and preventing a shutdown of streaming for the game at the tournament by Nintendo of America. As its viewership has increased, Melee It On Me increased in scope. An official website, Twitter, and YouTube channel were launched in June 2013 by Juggleguy, and production quality improved with the hiring of Cosmonaught; the website's content also increased with the hiring of Tafokints, SFAT, and PewPewU, with Tafokints notably starting the SSBMRank in the end of 2013. A spin-off of Melee It On Me, The Scar and Toph Show, was also created in 2014, acting as a complement to Melee It On Me podcasts.
