Pro-Am SSBM

I am a Super Smash Bros. 64 player (mostly) from Mexico, and a small contributor to this wiki. Nice to meet you. I also play Melee and Brawl sometimes (offline), but I haven't had the time to do some "competitive" matches with these games. I also make TASes (not very often), you'll find my first Melee TAS video below.

As an online player

I am very active on the Galaxy server, and I've played SSB64 online for years, since late 2007. However, I started playing again in around September 2011 since my last retirement. I'm also one of the leaders of S.C.G. (with my friend Broken Faces), an online SSB64 crew.

Characters

These character descriptions are just about my experience ;)

Samus

Samus does pretty well against floaty characters, such as Kirby, Jigglypuff or Pikachu. The fact that Samus cannot be easily combo'ed also saves her from being KO'd relatively quick. Screw Attack also has invincibility frames at the start, which can help her to quickly escape from combos. Her recovery is somewhat good, and covers great horizontal distance if used with her down-special move (bombs). However, Samus has a low amount of combos, and her floatiness makes her very vulnerable to the upper blast lines. Matches against fast-fallers are also very difficult, specially Fox.

Jigglypuff

Jigglypuff, on the other hand, has good matchups against fast-fallers. Her down-special move is a great combo finisher, and can KO under 60% in most cases. She also has a rather decent horizontal recovery if used with Pound. However, Jigglypuff is very floaty, and is the lightest character in SSB64, which makes her extremely vulnerable to high knockback moves and finishers (such as Luigi's Super Jump Punch, which can KO Jigglypuff under 30% before being hit by the attack). Jigglypuff's recovery also covers very short vertical distance.

Yoshi

Yoshi is an unique character, and is my all-time favorite. His second jump (flutter) makes him invulnerable to most attacks, and he's able to DJC (along with Ness) allowing him to use his nair to break a shield very quickly. However, since I just started "maining" him recently, I do not have a matchup table for Yoshi as for now.
