Pivot Grabs are generally faster (both in startup and in cooldown) than a character's standing or running grab, especially those with ranged grabs such as Link and Lucas. For example, Yoshi's Pivot Grab is about twice as fast as his running grab.

A Pivot Grab is a type of grab that a character can use. While dashing, a character can pivot in the other direction, but at that exact same moment of pivoting, the player can press the grab button. This results in a grab that has a longer reach then most normal grabs. The Pivot Grab can help grab opponents that constantly roll behind opponents that are dashing.

Pivot Grabs are generally faster (both in startup and in cooldown) than a character's standing or running grab, most notably Yoshi's. Other Pivot Grabs that are significantly faster than "regular" grabs include Lucas' and Ivysaur's.
