- At Smash Ultimate Summit 4, Sparg0, Light, and ProtoBanham take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles.
- 26 February 2022
- EVO announces that the Super Smash Bros. series will not be present at EVO 2022 due to Nintendo's request.
- 20 February 2022
- At Glitch - Infinite, Cosmos, Zomba, and Jake take 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively in Ultimate singles. Zomba & LeoN take Ultimate doubles.
- 15 February 2022
- Nintendo announces that the Nintendo eShop on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U systems will no longer allow any items to be purchased starting in late March of 2023, with downloadable content for Super Smash Bros. 4 becoming unavailable in the process.
