Thoughts on the Smash games

64: Haven't played at all, but looks like a chill game. Ness looks like my preferred character, due to my respect towards low tiers, as well as DJC.

Melee: It's... complicated. On one hand, competitive Smash wouldn't exist without it, but I don't like Melee, for two reasons. One, you can't turn off Tap Jump or switch the C-stick to tilts. That alone makes the game unplayable to me. Secondly, ever since Brawl, Melee players hold such a high standard for other Smash games, that if one thing differs from their "favorite" game (despite not playing or enjoying 90% of it), they immediately denounce it. Melee arguably is the least polished game in the series, yet it still remains popular for all of its exploits? Not to say watching it isn't fun, but the playerbase needs to grow up and/or move on.

Brawl: One of two Smash games I actually play, alongside Ultimate. Subspace will seemingly be the best single-player mode ever, with plenty of other options like Events, Classic, all of the challenges. I love the art style, even if it's a meme with its realism. I do think tripping is stupid, but it isn't that common all things considered. Meta Knight is stupidly good, but Ice Climbers sort of even him out. I want to see what Ganondorf can do, considering he's considered the worst character in the franchise, even though Melee Pichu and Brawl Ivysaur exist.

Sm4sh: Haven't played For Wii U, but it seems like a worse Ultimate. Have played a little bit of For 3DS, and learned that Smash doesn't work on a small-screened, one-sticked handheld. Who would've guessed? Custom moves are dope though, they shouldn't have removed them *minus Miis.

Ultimate: My game. Decades worth of content, 80+ characters, 116 stages! Yeah, some characters are way better than others, and for some reason they don't address key weaknesses like with Little Mac or Ganon, but every character is still useable. We don't have same character top fours like Melee or, admittedly, Brawl. I am a Luigi main currently, though I may pocket Little Mac. Once I learned that Luigi could zero-to-death people, I was in. But... I'm still not good, and I'm hitting a wall. How do I get better?
