'''Shadow''' is a playable character in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''. Shadow is one of the eight third-party characters in the game, alongside the third-parties from previous games. He was the eighth third-party character to be revealed in the game.

In the English version, Shadow is voiced by Kirk Thornton, reprising his role from ''[[Super Smash Bros. 4]]'' as an [[Assist Trophy]]. This proceeds his succession of Shadow's previous voice actor, Jason Griffith.

Shadow also has alternate voices for the French, Spanish, German, and Italian versions, as ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' games from ''Sonic Generations'' onward were dubbed into those languages. However, the Japanese version simply recycled Koji Yusa's voice clips from ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. 4]]'', who has been his Japanese voice actor since ''Sonic Adventure 2''.

==How to unlock==
*Play 250 VS matches
*Complete Classic as Sonic on Normal or higher
After completing one of the two methods, Shadow must then be defeated on [[Windy Hill Zone]].

Being the Ultimate Life Form, he can tap into the Chaos Emeralds to use their power. He incorporates this into some of his attacks.
