SSBMT was a Super Smash Bros. Melee tournament held in Saint-Cloud, France, on February 11th, 2003. It is the oldest documented Melee tournament in France and the first installment of the SSBMT series.

Format

Attendees were placed in 10 pools of 3-4 players and had to play 3 free-for-all, 2-minute Time matches among themselves, with each player being awarded points based on their placement after each game. The Top 2 players of each pool were pitted against each other in free-for-all, 3-minute matches, with the bottom 2 players of each match being eliminated until two players remained. The Grand Final was a Stock match played out on Final Destination, with both players starting with 5 stocks. In addition, players could not change their character throughout the tournament and were required to play the character they registered with.

Stagelist

The stage for every match, with the exception of Grand Finals, was picked at random, with every stage but Icicle Mountain and Flat Zone being turned on.
