Deletion[edit]

I don't see the point of this template or its partner. We currently call the game "Super Smash Bros. 4" and specify version from there if necessary. As-is the template doesn't even follow the Manual of Style either, and if it did there would be no real purpose to it (it would just be a single static no-redirect no-anchor intrawiki link). What's wrong with having this template if it makes things easier to type for us? Awesome Cardinal 2000 07:50, 14 April 2014 (EDT)
It makes it much easier and takes up less coding when you're saying something like "this is their appearance in the 3DS version of the game". This makes it necessary to specify the version, and the template is easier to use then typing the title manually. Scr7Scr7 sig.png(talk · contribs) 08:47, 14 April 2014 (EDT)
I use this template whenever I need to specify the Wii U version of the game, and deleting this template would be an inconvenience that would make me sad. Toast Wii U Logo Transparent.pngltimatum 08:49, 14 April 2014 (EDT)
In addition to the above, this also means that should we at some point split the SSB4 page into pages for the two versions (or have pages that specifically cover each version plus a general SSB4 page for both), this template could be easily changed to link to that instead, saving the trouble of a lot of manual relinking or bot edits on something not consistently formatted otherwise. How does this defy the manual of style? The only thing Smash 4 related mentioned on the page is the SSB4 template. Super Smash Bros. 4 was never mentioned anywhere else except in the line "There are many different templates that can be used to allow links to be shortened so they avoid taking up too much space, including: SSB, SSBM, SSBB, SSB4, s, b, Sm, and t." That's it. It doesn't specifically say we have to keep calling it "Super Smash Bros. 4". It is just a habit we have. Trust me, I read the manuel and used the find feature of Chrome. The MoS says "use , not redirect" (paraphrased). These templates exist for the purpose of redirect. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Loony 16:35, 21 April 2014 (EDT)
Well, I'm going to make redirects. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. Maybe those templates could be used to shorten the time of writing those long redirect titles? SeanWheeler (talk) 19:58, 21 April 2014 (EDT)
Actually, there are already redirects. I'll just change the links in the template. SeanWheeler (talk) 19:59, 21 April 2014 (EDT)
Okay, changed the links to the redirects. Now can we keep the templates? SeanWheeler (talk) 20:02, 21 April 2014 (EDT)

Okay I guess we can hang onto these for now. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Breegull 10:47, 1 May 2014 (EDT)
