Move[edit]

Oppose Vulpix is Vulpix, I changed it before the page was made because "Alolan" is simply the variation. Aidan, the College-Bound Rurouni 12:43, 15 June 2018 (EDT)

Dead Neutral I am not sure which way to go on this. On the one hand, I agree with Aidan, but on the other, it confuses me somewhat that we have Alolan Vulpix named just 'Vulpix'. As much as I adore the little guy, I am not quite used to that yet. Perhaps we should wait and see what the game calls it? Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Oppose I've decided to change my stance on this, and fully agree with Aidan. Black Vulpine of the Furry Nation. Furries make the internets go! :3 08:05, 19 June 2018 (EDT)

Ember[edit]

Listen, I just want to say something right now: I don't know if this is resource but we can see Entei use Fire Spin and it looks nothing like the move Vulpix uses, it's way more close to Ember, so I suggest replacing the move until the game is out. AnnieCat07 (talk) 14:02, 20 August 2018 (EDT)

Yeah, well both Kyogre and Blastoise use Hydro Pump, but neither of them function the same. Unowninator (talk) 14:12, 20 August 2018 (EDT)
Well, yeah but at least those two look the same, and kind of work the same: Blastoise's Hydro Pump is also able to push foes like Kyogre's.AnnieCat07 (talk) 14:20, 20 August 2018 (EDT)
Blastoise's actually does knockback and damage, unlike Kyogre's. Also, Greninja uses Hydro Pump too, which also has different qualities.
Let me give another example: Icy Wind. Articuno, Kyurem, and <rollover>Snowpix|Alolan Vulpix</rollover> all use Icy Wind. Articuno performs it like an Off-wave, while Kyurem blows 2 wind storms from its sides, and Snowpix shoots a single projectile. Ergo, the moves don't have to be similar to be the same. If this doesn't convince you, then I don't know what will. Unowninator (talk) 14:35, 20 August 2018 (EDT)
One thing that I propose is that we remove the move altogether since the name hasn't been confirmed yet. When I initially added the move for Vulpix, I said that it was Fire Spin since that was what Fennekin used in Smash 4 , but it turns out that Fennekin actually used the move Incinerate, negating that point entirely. The only thing Fire Spin really has going for it right now is that it is learned at level 15 like Icy Wind, but we really don't know if Alolan Vulpix uses that move either. The pair could use Powder Snow and Ember which are both learned at Level 1. The blog uses the phrase "icy breath," but that could easily apply to a different move: Frost Breath, a move that Alolan Vulpix can learn via TM. We could put the move Incinerate, but Vulpix can't learn that move anymore in Gen 7. I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're basically taking stabs in the dark at this, and I think removing the move until we get confirmation seems like the best way forward.
