Team SoloMid (TSM) is a professional eSports organization based in the United States. Founded in 2009 as the team of League of Legends community site SoloMid.net by brothers Andy Dinh (Reginald) and Dan Dinh, it became one of the most popular and successful League organizations before expanding into Hearthstone: Heroes of WarCraft with some of the most popular players in that scene and then the Super Smash Bros. Melee arena with Leffen getting sponsored on March 10th, 2015. Later, ZeRo would also get sponsored, now expanding with in the Super Smash Bros. 4 scene. Now, with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate released, they would expand into the scene by sponsoring Tweek.
Leffen's work visa saga
When The Big House 5 occurred in October 2015, Leffen was denied entrance to the United States due to not having a worker's visa. As Leffen is from Sweden and Team SoloMid is an American sponsor, he is technically "working" in the United States. He would later be unable to attend four other American tournaments due to the same reasons. Later it was announced that Leffen would be temporarily allowed into the USA up until and throughout July 2016, letting him attend EVO 2016. However since his visa was going through additional processing, it resulted in his deportation from the US meaning Leffen was unable to attend EVO 2016. Furthermore, he was denied a work visa from the United States, primarily for reasons that question Melee's legitimacy as a sport. The video showing the rejection letter has started a movement to reverse the decision known as #FreeLeffen. A note from the White House following the #FreeLeffen petition stated that they declined to address the issue thus increasing the tension. On October 3rd, 2016, Leffen's US visa has been fully processed and was approved, letting him be able to enter future tournaments such as EVO 2017.
