Merge with SW:CNA

I noticed an editing comment on SW:CNA that concerns this page. It says, word for word, "NOTE: If this passes, I plan to merge Help:New page with this." I traced this comment back to Rtzxy, when the policy was still a proposal. I couldn't add a {{merge}} tag given how the tag automatically puts the namespace the page is in at the beginning of the link. What are your thoughts? Mario Maniac 23:09, September 14, 2026 (UTC)

I don't know if a 12 years old talk page comment is really worth citing in the merge template, but regardless this page and SW:CNA serve different purposes. CNA pertains to what should and should not have a page created for it, and general rules for formatting articles, whereas this page is more akin to a tools page like Special:Upload; a quick tool for performing the action of creating a page with a given title (and finding a title that is not already in use), for people who are already familiar with our policies. If both SW:IMAGE and Special:Upload can exist, then I see no reason why this and SW:CNA can't both exist. If anything, I would argue that this page should be moved to the special namespace and added to the tools section of the sidebar, rather than being a help page. Dude, stop. You should wait a few days before bumping something, not a few seconds. Doing that will just make people not want to engage with you. Also if you read the (12 year old) discussion, you saw people agreeing with the policy itself, not with the merge. I honestly just don't care enough for it to merge, to be completely honest. Also it could just be easier to use this page to create a page, rather than having to go to the guideline, scroll all the way to the bottom, then make a page. At most this would probably be archived instead of outright removed in any shape or form. CookiesCreme 13:06, September 19, 2026 (UTC)

Extra note that I forgot to point out: On SW:CNA, in the "How to make a new article" section, there's a link that links to the bottom of the page. So they don't have to scroll all the way down, they can just click that link and it takes them to the bottom of the page. Mario Maniac 16:16, September 19, 2026 (UTC)
