Deletion

Since it's been over two weeks since the tag was put up without any discussion, I'll start. I oppose because while both names can refer to the same thing, Mother 3 was never released outside of Japan, meaning it can only be called by its Japanese name. Oppose: While it's more ideal to use the english names, "Mother" still sees major use in the fan community. Plus there's Mother 3 which never released outside Japan, so it doesn't have an english name, and because of this we can't call it "EarthBound 3". Even in Super Smash Bros Ultimate the series is still called "Mother" on some rare occasions, such as Mother Series 30th Anniversary. OmegαToαd the Toαd Wαrrior (BUP) 20:13, March 4, 2020 (EST)

Oppose for similar reasons. To go along with OmegaToad's last point, in Ultimate, Lucas' "In His Series" tip directly says "The main protagonist from Mother 3." So there is reference to the name that will show up often. It also show's up in one of New Pork City's tips. --CanvasK (talk) 23:36, March 4, 2020 (EST)

Support, if only because we don't use both Japanese and English logos for other series with mostly Japan-exclusive installments (like with The Legendary Starfy and Jam with the Band). The only series where I feel this should be an exception is Ouendan, since both it and Elite Beat Agents are atleast distinct enough from each other. Differences is EarthBound is more well known internationaly and was very successful, also two of the three games were released worldwide, even though it took Beginnings 26 years for that to happen. EarthBound is known for having a huge fanbase and "Mother" is still used to a good extent among fans. Plus EarthBound has been represented in SSB to a decent extent, and like I said even in Ultimate it's referred to as "Mother".
