The current setup I was working with was that stage element characters have to do something other than appear silently in the background to warrant having a page of their own. This includes things like 5-Volt (damaging hazard), K.K. Slider (affects the music), or Peppy Hare (voice acted). Unless we want to significantly increase the number of pages we have on very minor appearances of characters (which I'd oppose), this page is outside the current setup. The only saving grace for the Balance Board that gives it a chance of surviving is that it's also part of the WFT's entry animation, but I don't think that's enough to save it from disambig status. 1) at least give the conversation a proper topic title rather than just having it floating in nothing

2) well then if that's the case then this page can stay up until that project of yours is done, and then we can move the information there.

I mean really, there are plenty of background characters who have their own pages, I see no reason why He cant as well. I mean he appears with the Wii Fit trainer in both versions of the game, via their intro, is featured as a background element in the wii fit stage, and has his own trophy. But again, with this project of yours, we can simply keep his info here until your new project is complete, and we can move his info there.

I think you misunderstood me. The current plan is for pages like this not to exist, like at all. Otherwise we'd be signing up for an absurd number of additional pages that we don't need: every background Pokemon, every background Animal Crossing NPC, etc. This page existing would set a bad precedent that I'd rather not. If you want to argue for this page's viability, understand that's the concern you're pushing up against. Miles (talk) 01:41, 17 July 2015 (EDT)
Well then I'm going to have to say i'm against your idea then. One thing I find rather odd is when Wiki's purposely withhold information on on anything, be it characters, items, or background elements, simply because they find it easier. The whole point of a Wiki is to provide as much information on the wikis subject as they can. If you wanna withhold information, regardless of how small it is, simply because its easy for you, then why are you even here?

The main reason I want the Balance Board to have his own page is because, unlike most games featured in smash bros, we don't have a Wii Fit wiki to link too for others to read this info on. Most franchises included in Smash Bros. are often linked to the wiki's of the other games that are included in it. So if people want to read up on Pokemon, or animal Crossing NPC's, they can go to the Animal Crossing Wiki and Bulbapedia to do that. For games like Wii Fit, the SSB Wiki is the only place to go to for info regarding it.

We have to draw the line somewhere. Ultimately, we need a set of criteria for what warrants a page and what doesn't. That's the issue with saying something like "The whole point of a Wiki is to provide as much information on the wikis subject as they can. If you wanna withhold information, regardless of how small it is, simply because its easy for you, then why are you even here?". You're assuming we are going to blanket cover anything and everything that appears in Smash in heavy detail even if its appearance is extraordinarily minor? I don't think that's really within our scope. By your logic, we'd need a full page for every single sticker. Do you see how outrageous this is?

As for the point about the lack of an interwiki option, that doesn't necessarily mean we have to do it. There's a limit to what is in our coverage, and the absence of a Wii Fit wiki isn't explicitly our problem. Miles (talk) 02:04, 17 July 2015 (EDT)
Its not there's no inter wiki option, its there there is no wiki to link too. I google searched and all I found was Wii Fit on Wikipedia, and an under developed wii fit wiki that has very little, to zero information on it.

"the absence of a Wii Fit wiki isn't explicitly our problem"

I mean really how hard is it to say "since this character doesnt appear anywhere else online, despite appearing in this game, I'm gonna go ahead and include it here.". Exactly how is it a problem to provide information that otherwise wont exist anywhere else? Again, that just comes off as lazy to me.
Ixbran (talk) 02:09, 17 July 2015 (EDT)
We are not going to just enter the business of covering anything and everything that appears in Smash without another wiki for it. It's not a question of laziness, that's just not what this wiki covers. Miles (talk) 02:16, 17 July 2015 (EDT)
"that's just not what this wiki covers"
So information regarding a characters specific appearance in Smash Bros. is not the job of the Smash Bros wiki? Then what is? Because in all honesty, it feels like you just dont want this page on the wiki personally, so your asserting your status as admin to get rid of it

"So what if this info wont appear anywhere else. "I" don't want this info here, so that's why "we" should just go ahead and not have it."
This is what you come off as when you get like this. You know I have issues when people in positions of power take advantage of said positions.

I dunno, maybe I'm taking this too personally and need to step back, because really this should not be upsetting me as much as it is. I'm finding it very difficult keeping this conversation civil with you. I feel like if I deal with this any longer I'm going to result to using foul language. And I don't want to do that.

Get a glass of water and relax. This is really not worth getting upset over. Like at all. Miles (talk) 02:46, 17 July 2015 (EDT)
