:I was the one who made the minor edits before, and before doing so, I went ahead and put this to the test very extensively, through a 10-stock match with 4 players. That's a total of 40 lives to go around. Every time someone was KO'd, it was the attacker's number who flashed on the KO. I do not know why you are seeing other people's numbers flashing when they were not the ones who made it, and studying your videos offers me no clues as to what the cause is. It might be a glitch. In my test, I set everyone's damage to 300% so KOs could happen faster. I also set it to slow motion so I could clearly see who did a KO and when. 100% of the time, it was always the attacker's number that flashed on a KO. It's possible that this displays incorrectly during replay playbacks, or during the rendering process for uploads, however I was not able to test that this time. At the very least, I feel compelled to say that "when a KO happens, the attacker's number will generally produce a flame burst effect, but it varies in rare cases for an unknown reason." SSBWU's Damage Meter

In SSB Wii U, whenever someone KOs somebody else, sometimes there's like an explosion or something on the Damage Meter, even if you never KO'd anybody. What does this mean?? Kirby's Crazy Appetite ~ I'm just uploading this for him. 23:09, 5 March 2016 (EST)

Every time you are accredited to KOing an opponent in Smash Wii U, flames surround your meter for a brief moment. There is some aesthetic flair in Smash 4 that I am adding to this article in a second. I'm not aware of any other situations where that occurs, perhaps explain how and when you saw it happen. Look at 1:20 in this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GLZflCT3xz4 When Zelda is KO'd, Villager gets the point, but flames surround Sonic's meter. Kirby's Crazy Appetite ~ I'm just uploading this for him. 14:30, 6 March 2016 (EST)
I noticed when Greninja got the KO, Villager's meter was in flames instead. I think it has something to do with the final smash, Zelda took really weird knockback straight up from forward smash. RobSir RobSir-sig.jpg zx 10:44, 6 March 2016 (EST)
