incoming

So, Bayonetta's coming. Her trailer revealed a lot of stuff about her, even including moveset information and names (especially her Final Smash). So do we immediately fill in the "unconfirmed" with "Infernal Climax"? 15DollarsWentSouth 18:11, 15 December 2015 (EST)

Yup. Nyargleblargle.pngNyargleblargle (Contribs) 18:12, 15 December 2015 (EST)
Mhmm. Serpent SKSig.png King 18:13, 15 December 2015 (EST)

...erm. This is embarrassing-how do I do that...? 15DollarsWentSouth 18:18, 15 December 2015 (EST)

Pretty sure it's in the coding of the template itself... ---Preceding unsigned comment added by SANTY CLAWS! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 18:19, 15 December 2015 (EST)
...I need to learn how that works. But thanks. Having said that, should we also note she's the only female third-party character? 15DollarsWentSouth 18:24, 15 December 2015 (EST)
Added, good find! Amiibae signature image.pngLuke Talk::: 18:27, 15 December 2015 (EST)

English VA in Japanese version?

K so, a small bit of trivia that most will pass by happened her Japanese trailer. Once they showcased her Alt from the first Bayonetta she speaks in English. Which is a direct reference to the Japanese version of the original release of Bayonetta, which Bayonetta speaks using her English VA. I don't know if it means her alt in the Japanese version will use her English voice. Someone will have to look into it once she's released --Gashner (talk) 23:47, 15 December 2015 (EST).

Platinum Games

I looked back at Bayonetta's trailer and I couldn't notice that Platinum Games was not credited among the companies at the end. I know that Sega is credited, but even CAPCOM, USA. is credited with Ryu's inclusion. Even first party characters like Kirby and Marth have their developers credited, HAL Laboratory and Intelligent Systems respectively. Yet they are credited. I find it really weird that Platinum Games is not credited at the end, especially since they are not owned by Sega. May I make note of this in the trivia section, or is it negligible that Platinum Games is not credited with Bayonetta's inclusion? Thanks. --Nintendo101 (talk) 11:06, 16 December 2015 (EST)

Sega completely owns the IP; Platinum does the development. It's a similar case to The Wonderful 101, which is a first-party Nintendo IP also developed by Platinum. This is different from cases like HAL and Intelligent Systems where the IP is co-owned by the subsidiary. Miles (talk) 14:16, 16 December 2015 (EST)

Bayonetta being the "Ballot Winner"

Doesn't anything seem fishy about her being the "Ballot Winner"? I mean I love that she's in the game but I can't deny that something seems wrong... Nintenzilla (talk) 20:05, 16 December 2015 (EST)

What would be fishy about it? Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. Duplicate of Lucina's life white stock head. (talk) 20:06, 16 December 2015 (EST)
Well she hasn't had any presence in any polls I've seen, nor has she really been a notable canidate. Not to mention Sakurai said that it takes about a year for characters to be developed, and it's only been two months since the ballot ended and she has tons of detail and quirks put into her. Do you think we should wait till official results? Nintenzilla (talk) 20:11, 16 December 2015 (EST)
If Sakurai says she's the winner, then she's the winner. I know he's a troll at times, but I highly doubt he'd go to lengths this great. My guess is the reason she didn't seem to have much of a presence in polls was because people thought she was an impossibility. Heck, even the creator of her themselves had no interest to see her in Smash and look how that turned out. Disaster Flare My signature image for the default signature. First of all, we have no reason to assume Sakurai would lie to us. Second, there's no reason to believe the results of the ballot outside of Bayonetta's inclusion will ever be made public. Third, consider that the people who vote in polls on news sites and social media are a vocal minority of the people who play the game and voted on the ballot. Miles (talk) 20:14, 16 December 2015 (EST)
Fair enough, but what about the length of development that it usually takes for a character when she seems, for the most part, mostly done? Nintenzilla (talk) 20:40, 16 December 2015 (EST)
Well ballot ended back in, what, September, right? Serpent SKSig.png King 20:45, 16 December 2015 (EST)
October 3rd, the one year anniversary of for 3DS. That means everything seen in the trailer was finished in just over two months, and four months total before her release. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by SANTY CLAWS! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 20:54, 16 December 2015 (EST)
Which would mean that it would've been almost impossible for her to have been that finished in that amount of time. It would've had to have taken much longer, which is why I'm suspicious. Nintenzilla (talk) 20:59, 16 December 2015 (EST)
Or, you know, 80+% of the vote was probably done by early summer and the top 5-10 were pretty clear well before the ballot closed. Whatever happened, we have no reason to doubt Sakurai at his word. Miles (talk) 21:02, 16 December 2015 (EST)
I mean, yeah, I expect most of the votes were in just because there was no reason to procrastinate. But it's pretty upsetting to think they didn't wait. I would've rather just had a rough doodle of her alongside Cloud and Corrin and gotten more information in February because it took them so long to finish her. ---Preceding unsigned comment added by SANTY CLAWS! Or maybe DatNuttyKid. 21:06, 16 December 2015 (EST)
That's unfortunate that they didn't wait till the end... Well I guess... Nintenzilla (talk) 21:08, 16 December 2015 (EST)
I agree with all of you! Bayonetta is chosen to compete and in the US, she's in the TOP 5 in the ballot! Dragonfirebreath25 (talk) 21:35, 16 December 2015 (EST)

This is not the place for this discussion. We are straying into opinionated and speculative territory here. Serpent SKSig.png King 21:09, 16 December 2015 (EST)

Unlisted standard attacks

I noticed a couple of her attacks shown in the direct are not listed on the wiki yet.

One such attack is shown multiple times during the direct: An aerial where she extends her leg out in front of her (after swinging it over her head; other leg is tucked under) and performs a stall-then-fall. This is most likely her down aerial.

The other attack is only shown once in the direct, briefly, right at the 28:24 mark in the english direct. She performs the Stiletto technicue from her game, in which she thrusts her arm out in front and slides forward quickly. It is most likely her dash attack, as you can see her begin to dash right before she goes into the Stiletto. Pyitoechito (talk) 17:27, 18 December 2015 (EST)

Up Air

Pretty sure Up Air is a turnaround version of Captain Falcon's Up Air, after some slight analysis. 58.152.250.104 11:43, 21 December 2015 (EST)
