On July 12th, 2009 Mango attended Genesis by DBR, that had 290 entrants in Melee Singles (Melee's largest tournament ever by that time), where he reached the Winner's Finals and lost 2-3 the first set against [[Armada]], a [[Peach]] mainer regarded as the best player in Europe. After beating Hungrybox in Loser's Finals 3-0, Mango entered the Grand Finals against Armada, and had to win two sets to win the tournament. Mango won a very intense and close second set between these two 3-2, and then won the third set 3-0 to win the event. Since then, Mango has been regarded by many as the world champion of SSBM.
