He has participated in three tournaments, failing advance from the first round in the first two (with a loss to second place finisher [[Foghorn]] in the first, and a loss to DonkeyButt, the second place finisher in the second) and then placing third in a doubles tournament with [[SLAPAHO]] crewmate Clifton 'Palm Tree' Palmer.  In the second qualifier for the [[UISCS]], Ax progressed to the finals where he lost 4-1 to a former Smash Brawl Rankings top player, and ranking about Smash Brawl Rankings moderator Mid Boss.  His second place qualifier finish earned him a berth into the championship, and earned a $25 prize.

Ax is an experienced competitive gamer, with his true gaming love being StarCraft (though Ax is proficient at Age of Empires 2, Warcraft III, and Rome: Total War) where he is known by the tags gorthak, semicolon, and Arrian. Ax claims that if not for StarCraft, he would be much worse at Brawl, because of the relative speeds at which both games are played. Ax can reach up to 300 APM (actions per minute [defined as a selection and issued order to a unit], five actions a second) at StarCraft, and regularly averages around half that amount throughout a game. As Ax improved at StarCraft, he began to play Brawl at a much faster pace which enabled him to preform various faster techs in Brawl such as [[Wing Dashing]].
 
Initially, Ax played every character in Brawl, generally using random to select his character during matches, but has chosen [[Pit (SSBB)| Pit]] as his main. He can preform all advanced techs with Pit, including Arrow Looping, Wing Dashing, The Angelic Step, and the sliding Angel Ring. He also enjoys playing [[Lucas (SSBB) | Lucas]], [[Zero Suit Samus (SSBB) | Zero Suit Samus]], and [[Zelda (SSBB) | Zelda]].
 
The only gaming clan, crew, or other association Ax has ever been a part of is the [[SLAPAHO]] crew. Inter-crew play is often a matter of pride for Ax, because of the intense loyalty he feels to his crewmates.
