Pokémon Trainer is an usable character confirmed to appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The Pokémon Trainer first appeared as the protagonist in the Game Boy games Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue. Pokémon Trainer's default name in his games is Red.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Pokémon Trainer will not fight directly. Instead, the player will alternate between three different pokémon; Charizard, Ivysaur, and Squirtle. These three Pokémon are (evolutions of) the three starter Pokémon in Pokémon Red and Blue. Squirtle is the basic form of his evolution process, while Ivysaur is the first evolution and Charizard is the final form of their respective evolution lines.
