Too General

I think you can spam ANY move and put it on this list. We might need to limit the list since any player can put a move they spam alot without disagreement. Also, tilts should be mentioned on the list as well. I'll edit if anyone objects... ItemHazard (talk) 22:17, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Not every move can be spammed. In general, most projectiles can be used for spamming, but some moves, like dash attacks or smashes cannot, because they have short range and deal enough knockback to allow your foe to counterattack. Xeze (talk) 22:27, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

I wasn't talking about if certain moves can be spammed or not. Most Jabs and Tilts can be spammed. And yes I am aware that some moves cannot be spammed. I was trying to point out the popularity of the spammed moves on this list. Ex: Peach's Toad. I've watchd many competitive matches and I HARDLY see that move being spammed. ItemHazard (talk) 22:31, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Yes I agree with you on that point. Peach's Toad is hard to spam, since it lasts shortly. But the other moves in the list are usually spammed a lot during matches (except Marth's/Roy's/Ike's Counter perhaps, but I'm not quite sure). Also grabs/throws can be spammable, but that is already known as chaingrab. Xeze (talk) 20:28, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

We might as well mention that too. I'll leave the list alone. ItemHazard (talk) 22:59, 17 July 2008 (UTC)

Shouldn't Mario's/Dr.Marios Cape/Super Sheet be on the list. Higher lvl computers and all players use it to help recover or to avoid falling to death. Zmario (talk) 17:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

In that case many moves would be on the list, such as Yoshi's Egg Throw or Marth's Dancing Blade, because they can also use them for recovery. I think this should not be considered spamming. Xeze (talk) 20:28, 31 July 2008 (UTC)

What about Donkey Kong's Down Special? It can be use for a long time and keep other players form using melee attacks against him. --Chihuahua0 (talk) 15:29, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Donkey Kong's Down Special has low knockback and aerial opponents won't be affected. So if you keep spamming this move,it will only work for like 3 times per use since your wide open to enemies attacks. To be honest, I've never seen someone spam DK's Down-B. Except in Multi-man Melee/Brawl. Overall, I think it's not a spamming move.82.74.123.237 23:23, December 20, 2009 (UTC)

Shouldn't this be called Spamming instead? BlueRidiculous 12:54, 27 January 2013 (EST)

Nope. Spam is the noun form. DoctorPain99DP99Majora.png 14:25, 27 January 2013 (EST)
We have camping and stalling though, both named with "ing"s because "camp" and "stall" by themselves are verbs in our context. In this case however, "spam" by itself can be either a verb or a noun. So I'm not sure which is better. Toomai Glittershine ??? The Interspacial 14:31, 27 January 2013 (EST)
Camping and Stalling don't really have noun forms, though. I'd say that "Spam" is the closest to a noun form and therefore the proper title. DoctorPain99DP99Majora.png 14:33, 27 January 2013 (EST)
In the context of Smash Bros, "spam" is almost always a verb, not a noun. "Spamming" is more common as a noun. Mr. AnonAnon.pngtalk 17:14, 27 January 2013 (EST)
I concur, we should probably move this to Spamming. Air Conditioner AC.png :| sucks. 17:16, 27 January 2013 (EST)
Except Anon is wrong an Spamming is never a noun. lol in the context of Super Smash Bros.? Super Smash Bros. doesn't change the rules of English. And in the context of Super Smash Bros., spam can be a noun just as much as it can be a verb or an adjective, whereas "Spamming" is never a noun.
