Mushroom Kingdom II is an unlockable stage appearing in Super Smash Bros. Melee. To unlock this stage you must obtain the Birdo trophy. This stage is Luigi's and Peach's home stage. In All-Star mode, this stage is played on when you face Dr. Mario and his teammates.

This stage is based on the American version of Super Mario Bros. 2 and all elements of the stage retain their original 8-bit form. The music for this stage is the unorchestrated and unaltered song appearing in the first level of SMB2. It is made up of 3 sections. There are two upper platforms on either side of the stage and one lower one in the middle. The center platform is actually 2 platforms connected by a log. There is a pit on either side of the middle platform.

Behind the center platform streching to the edge of both gaps is a waterfall which was a common sight in the original game. In between the platforms logs come from the waterfall and fall into the pit. You can jump on them, but they fall rapidly. On occasion, Birdo will appear from the side of the screen and lob eggs into the fray. The eggs can be dodged or break and sometimes have items in them. You can kill Birdo, but she will come back. A Pidgit will fly over the top-center of the stage on a carpet, which you can jump on.
